I think Dash needs some changes

I honestly don't think it's a bad idea, but there's too much apathy amongst MNO's right now. Amanda's attitude here reflects the wider community right now, "Let someone else do it" - which is a very socialist attitude to have. Instead we need to foster growth and get some new members wowed with...

I think Dash needs some changes

Instead of rebuilding, all the community does is pick a scapegoat and moan, maybe we all deserve what's coming. You're all asking what DASH can do for you, not what you can do for DASH. At least @kot was asking what he can do for the network, and no-one seems to have any tasks to give him

I think Dash needs some changes

Not all DCG funds go to Evo, there's core, infra (me, this forum!), web development, documentation, HR, insight, testnet... etc. DCG takes ~3000 DASH per month. Miners+Masternodes take ~45,000 DASH per month Why are we trusting humans? We are a decentralized network, moving money through the...

I think Dash needs some changes

Why not? Dash works, as is, right now. We're not a beta product, we're a functioning layer 1 blockchain and one of the oldest out there. We have proven security, chainlocks, instantsend, privatesend (CJ), masternodes, a democracy, I could go on! What DCG does or does not do doesn't change that...

    Can I help with anything?

He wasn't restricted, he restricted himself and refused to engage anywhere except his TG channels. At least other DCG members actually reach out Discord/forum/etc

Connecting to the main net via the api. Need help

At the moment, yes you'll need dash core running. You can access via RPC if you want to do it in an automated way: https://docs.dash.org/projects/core/en/stable/docs/api/remote-procedure-calls.html Hopefully platform will change this soon™

Platform is not on mainnet yet

    Retirement of DCG ElectrumX servers

DCG will be retiring the following servers: * electrumx-mainnet.dash.org * electrumx-testnet.dash.org We believe there is a functional server at drk.p2pay.com but we believe it's owned by the previous maintainer of Electrum and thus cannot guarantee anything about this server. Reasons for...

    Miner reallocation2 / DAO refill

Kot ran a subset of DASH, our team (infra) and a few others. I don't think it's particularly fair to put the failings all on him since he didn't really interact with developers day to day, infra runs a tight ship, like a well oiled machine. I know you're being facetious, but try not to refer to...

    v19.2.0 Release Announcement

There is a bug bounty, it's a bit outdated and all we usually get through it is spam but it's here: https://www.dash.org/bugbounty/

In a free society, lies and the omission of facts are allowed to exist

Yeah I understand but as the admin I gotta balance that with keeping at least official threads on topic/relevant so people can get help quickly. I just gave your account view (only view) permissions for all the deleted crap on the forum, feel free :)

In a free society, lies and the omission of facts are allowed to exist

It's never truly deleted anyway, I see it all still. If Xenforo allowed that without some complicated hacks or unsupported plugins, sure. The unsupported plugin problem was how we got into the mess we had earlier this year so I'd rather not if it's complicated, but you're not missing much by not...

In a free society, lies and the omission of facts are allowed to exist

Well, let's hope it doesn't come to that and you'll tone it down, eh? Also I do occasionally spam clean, if something manages to get through the filter and no mods are online... it's one of the reasons the forum barely has any spam. I don't see anyone jumping to help moderate the place except...

In a free society, lies and the omission of facts are allowed to exist

For the last two years I've mostly stayed in the shadows here until you started causing issues in the official thread, you basically forced my hand. If you'll tone it down a bit and not cause so much headache for the mods I'll sink off back into the shadows.... but if I'm called upon again with...

In a free society, lies and the omission of facts are allowed to exist

I am an admin, and I am involved now since you're causing the mods here a hard time and making us lock threads that are supposed to assist and help in upgrades etc. In other words you're making more work for me when I should be doing the infrastructure stuff I'm actually paid to do

In a free society, lies and the omission of facts are allowed to exist

I was the one who deleted your posts in official announcements, I left most of them up, it's only when you invoked Godwin's Law (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law) that you stepped over the line and I told you to go elsewhere with your trolling. Telling us (DCG) that we're wrong is...

    Dash QT appearing as virus

You can use it, a lot of AVs will see dashd as a virus because it can mine crypto if you set it up that way (of course, it's a crypto wallet after all) AFAIK Electrum uses BIP39 which means it'll work with Ledger/Trezor/etc which support Dash, or any of the other multicurrency wallets available.

I've reopened this thread and removed some off-topic comments. Anymore of that in this thread and I will start handing out bans

Electrum app requiring password in different window?

I do not see this string in Electrum, and it looks a little fuzzy to me so indeed you did the right thing. When I briefly owned the Electrum code as a caretaker I couldn't get Android to build though, so my knowledge here may be out of date however I do see a feature to do with encryption...

Dash Core Group announces first v19 chain halt

It's from legacy to basic, and it was mostly because of technical debt... we made BLS sigs before the basic/regular one came about. I even think (I'm not 100% sure on this though) Platform relies on basic rather than legacy, if you think about it you can pull an off the shelf module for basic or...
