Miners do not drive adoption. If the blockchain is handled by masternodes, via Evan's beuatiful coding skill the only thing that is lost is miner's $$$. Miners are not necessary. Tell me why miners are necessary.

Just because you guys have always considered mining to be the backbone of crypto, and thats what brought you into crypto, does not mean that crypto can't exist, or potentially be even stronger without it.

Where in the heck are you getting that? Having MNs generate the blockchain would have absolutely no affect on the things you named...?? THe blockchain would be just as visible as it ever was, not that anyone could trace transactions anyway.

    Development Update - Oct 1, 2014

Hey Georgem, Bitcoin's price at the moment is stagnant, due to lack of integration into various economies. Though a lot of that is changing very soon, it's current market seems saturated with miners, and the price doesn't increase. This indicates that for the coin to grow, attracting more miners...

Your idea is brilliant. Though I'm not well versed in P2pool it does sound like your idea does wonders for distribution. I'm not certain I'm advocating abolishing POW either, yet. Just a cool train of thought at the moment. It just doesn't seem like we need the miners, could do wonders for...

Can anyone explain from a security stand point what would be the downside to having only masternodes generate blocks?

    Development Update - Oct 1, 2014

I imagine if Masternodes were doing the block generation the process would not resemble "CPU mining", it would be a different beast entirely and would not need to eat up the entire CPU load. The reason the CPU load is so high when CPU mining is because you are competing for blocks and trying to...

The pimphand will increase ROI for running masternodes by atleast 20% immediately! A good first step.

    Development Update - Oct 1, 2014

That's a fair point. Something to consider at the same time is that if the costs of running a masternode are doubled for the same reward, it makes running a masternode less profitable, less people will do it, more will sell, which could lead to a pretty scary spiral... could lead to masternodes...

The problem with that solution is it does not involve an influx of money into DRK!

Tried to denominate 83 tdrk and received "No valid masternode." I had earlier denominated 990 3 times, so maybe it was waiting for me to send before denominating again. I'm unfortunately not going to have much time in the next couple of days so I sent you some tDrk to play with. Looks like some...

The address you received it to would likely show differently than the address you are mining to. Also your mined coins may not have matured yet which would mean they wouldnt go through autodenon yet. Someone please stop me if I am spreading nonsense . I'll shoot 50k, have another 50k here, if we both unlock wallets that should give the network something to think about :grin...

Have just under 90k tDRK. Only thing I can think of to do with them is keep sending them and having them be denominated and such. If anyone wants to play ping pong or just wants a bunch of them for whatever purpose please shout me a holler.
