DASH away from and shake off that dum ideal

I think backup nodes would need to have greater equipment requirements than a MN. It won't solve any voting "problems"

    DASH Wallet Will Not Open

Install dash qt in another computer (just to make sure you won't do anything irreversible), copy your old wallet.dat from the crashed instance into the working one.

Say no to three backup servers

I agree, there is something weird about these 3 backup drives. Does that mean that someone has special permissions to upload stored encrypted user data back to the Dash drive, or any MN can do it? How would this backup drive nodes be selected? Are they to be located in the Dash headquarters in...

DASH away from and shake off that dum ideal

See what I meant when I said "fractional voting" is ill defined? To me it meant that MNs could cast votes between 0 and 1 to solve one of the problems with MN pooling. Of course if regular users were to vote, it would have to be proportional to the amount they have. Anything different would...

DASH away from and shake off that dum ideal

There were a lot of things suggested in that thread. Even "fractional voting" means different things to different people. And the last post quotes Evan thinking of a technical way of allowing regular users to vote (as I understood it). Anyways, if they ever do it, I hope they make you take a...

DASH away from and shake off that dum ideal

Proud to be uneducated, doesn't read and doesn't do research. That's why I think users shouldn't be able to vote. I hope they never implement it in the wallet GUI.

DASH away from and shake off that dum ideal

If that's how you feel, you should stop accepting donations in Dash, because Dash is anonymous and you will never know where the money has been. That also applies to cash, by the way.

OK, help me feel better PLEASE

You will see how optional it will be when every mechant implements the "pay with Dash" button via DAPI and it asks for your Dash EVO alias.

    Dash + Protonmail

Yes, please. The fact that we are looking for private e-mail services alone shows that this requirement is absurd. Instead of just signing up and testing the platform I'm worried about what e-mail should I use and how it can be traced back to me.

OK, help me feel better PLEASE

That's not an answer. You do need an email address to sign up in evolution. Why? What's the problem with standalone aliases?

    What IP do we have?

AFAIK it's all open source. We have the right to the name Dash and that's it. I would only start worrying if we lose our development team, which is not likely, since they probably own some portion of Dash themselves.

    2nd Tier Lite Nodes

That might actually be trivial to do. I would support it if it doesn't take much development time.

    Governance question?

No problem at all. I trust they would do well if they were to operate a MN.

    Governance question?

I never said it was. I'm not trying to prove that education causes wealth, nor that wealth causes education. I said that in general, wealthy people are more educated.

    Governance question?

The fact that there is a correlation is well proven. For example: http://huebler.blogspot.com.br/2008/08/hh-wealth.html

    Governance question?

Yes, but now you are no different than any newcomer. You have $25.000 and 5 MNs. A newcomer with $25.000 can buy 5 MNs.

    Governance question?

It proves nothing, but there is a strong correlation between education and wealth. Weren't you saying that in the future this would be a problem and only the rich would be able to acquire a node? I think of the people who are coming in now still as early adopters. Anyways, they didn't...

    Governance question?

InTheWoods I think it's fair to assume that early adopters would have some understanding of economics and crypto to invest in it while everyone else still thinks it is play money.

    Governance question?

I do want a comunity of geeks. I don't want someone who doesn't understand economics or how cryptocurrencies work to have a say in if we should increase the blocksize.
