Dash Core Team Accountability and Lack of Communication

Ok, there's a disagreement and there are a fair number of different aspects to it that relate to governance, how can any of them be avoided through improvements to the governance system? Not an easy problem, there are limited resources to throw at it, testing can only really be done in a live...

Dash Core Team Accountability and Lack of Communication

I'm seeing a lot of bitching but nothing much on how the governance system can be improved. Camo said "several vastly superior alternatives", such as...? It's obvious improvements can be made but complaining about the symptoms does nothing about fixing the problems.

Wtf does any of this have to do with the 12.1 announcement or even development news and information? Please delete off-topic posts.

How can you tell if an exchange is faking their volume ?

I'm contradicting myself saying it but those bots have a beneficial effect on speculative markets by damping fluctuations and thereby making market manipulation more difficult so the more there are the better. If an exchange is taking an advantage of their position to run trading bots with zero...

How can you tell if an exchange is faking their volume ?

It depends what's meant by "fake", users buying and selling for legitimate needs is the only "real" use of exchanges but that only makes up a very small part of the trades, the bulk is speculative trading and the cutoff point with that is the trade fees. Those look very much like automated...

Dash Core Team Accountability and Lack of Communication

Can anyone give an example of a perfect governance system? I can't, I don't think such a thing exists so in the absence of a better alternative the best path is to start with something simple and address whatever issues arise. That was the path Bitcoin was taking with crypto but at some point...

I don't get it, are you saying PrivateSend is broken?

    Privacy first vs transparency first

My entire bitcoin transaction history is transparent and amounts to tens of thousands of euros of legitimate business and personal transactions and my only hidden Dash transactions where to test out PrivateSend. Feel free to mine all my dataz and sell it to big brother, I doubt he'll give a shit...

    Privacy first vs transparency first

Are you actually taking on board what people have said so far or just arguing for the sake of argument? You might as well be talking about rainbows and unicorns as Gentleman's clubs or Orwellian agendas, you can be entirely anonymous with Bitcoin or simple Dash transactions and no amount of data...

    Privacy first vs transparency first

Obfuscation merely for the sake of obfuscation makes little sense, if Bitcoin had taken that route then it's unlikely anyone outside of the cryptographic community that gave birth to Bitcoin would have heard of it today. The transparent ledger means anyone and everyone can see what's happening...

And look what's all over the mainstream news this morning: http://gizmodo.com/bitcoin-exchange-ordered-to-give-irs-years-of-data-on-m-1789544707 Viva La France, at least they're honest about assuming guilty until proven innocent :/

IRS vs Coinbase: Massive Implications for Bitcoin, Digital Currencies (+ Node40/ @perry.woodin in th

Possibly the most foolish move ever made by a taxation authority, there are countless possibilities for a mutually beneficial co-existence of tax and cryptocurrency but this one is way out on the self destructive end of the scale.

Dash Wallet not start anymore Win 10

Did you try turning it off and turning it back on again? ;) I'm guessing you rebooted when you changed Nvidia drivers so it's unlikely to be the client hanging on exit, I can't see how the Nvidia driver could make a difference though, maybe it's upset something with Qt? I'm not familiar with...

    AT&T AirGig

Makes a lot of sense, a modern grid needs digital coms to run efficiently so might as well give them plenty of bandwidth and get in on the carrier business at the same time, should end up going all the way out to domestic connections so smart meters provide both electricity and internet.

    WTB 3D printed components

Nice one Andy, I'm hoping to get someone from the community involved with it as it's part of a Dash related project but happy to support any company accepting crypto. There are a few companies here (Ireland) that I could approach too but the closer to Dash and cottage industry I can get with it...

Do the power companies have any part in that? That kind of network could be extremely beneficial to power companies but that doesn't necessarily mean they'd be cooperative.
