Should we change the mining algorithm because of ASICs?

The ASICs also create a negative price dynamic in the market, aside from centralization. Most of the ASIC miners tend to constantly dump the coins onto the market to recover the cost of their investment. The casual home miner is more of a mining enthusiast, more inclined to keep the coins. I...

Should we change the mining algorithm because of ASICs?

I am inclined to say yes. That's because after a change like this ASIC manufacturers will be discouraged to invest more resources into DASH ASIC manufacturing. The 2nd time around they'll know better than to invest into producing more DASH ASICs. Once bitten, twice shy, as they say. ;)

Pre-Proposal Discussion: Dash to Fiat Payment Processor

EUR is much more important than AUD or NZD, even the CNY is more important. I know you are based in Australia but that area is poorly populated.

Budget Proposal - Proof of Labour

I suggest you put out that video asap. It would help getting the desired number of votes. Most people don't really understand what you're trying to achieve here, which is why you're not getting many votes.

Is there any way to game the Budget system ?

Being critical doesn't equate to being negative. It's quite the opposite. It was perfectly normal to ask for a status report on an overdue project. However, it wasn't cool to get such a negative response to such a legitimate question.

Is there any way to game the Budget system ?

Smart contracts are not a way to avoid fraud, at least not in the way some have implemented them so far. I guess you could create a system to have coins returned to the owner if a contract is not fulfilled and this could be done based on a voting mechanism. Masternode owners could vote...

Budget Proposal - Proof of Labour

Not sure this is the right way to put it. A decentralized exchange would be all about currency and could facilitate Dash access to fiat and fiat to Dash without going through KYC/AML which is somewhat defeats the purposes of having a privacy oriented currency.

Risk - Decentralized Governance by Blockchain (DGB) - Subversive Activity

First of all one could argue this whole thread is off-topic since it's not really Dash related. It doesn't belong in the General section. It was a deliberate attempt to instigate paranoia and push a specific agenda. I was very on topic actually because I was pointing out what's the real agenda...

Risk - Decentralized Governance by Blockchain (DGB) - Subversive Activity

It's very much related actually. The only reason threads like these popped up was because of that. Some people just can't accept dissenting views and turn to paranoia. I know you were one of the Transform PR supporters yourself, one of the people actually involved in the project. You have...

Was just pointing out to the real source of said poster's grievances to put things into context.

Risk - Decentralized Governance by Blockchain (DGB) - Subversive Activity

https://dashtalk.org/threads/dash-partnership-with-transform-pr.7715/page-4#post-83192 Again, the people who are pro Transform PR start spreading this kind of BS fear mongering. Vedran Yoweri, author of this thread, was also the brilliant author of this statement, referencing Transform PR...

Budget Proposal - Proof of Labour

I believe all these 3rd layered apps that will work on the 2nd layer are not impacting the network directly, not really built-in into Dash but use the Dash network. Perhaps the proposal creator can clarify this part so that it's clear for everyone.

Risk - Decentralized Governance by Blockchain (DGB) - Subversive Activity

Currently the most subversive of all is not a gov or a state when it comes to Dash but the competition. The nastiest trolling comes from our competition. Just check the crazy trolling action happening in the Bitcointalk thread. Actually some states love cryptocurrencies because they can use it...

Budget Proposal - Proof of Labour

stan.distortion I haven't read the whole PDF yet but judging from a previous reply here posted by juliomoros, he's basically talking future contracts. It would be a layer app using the Dash network. I don't think it would be up to Dash to police all the future Apps and decentralized APIs...

I've just skimmed through the PDF documentation of your proposal. It's probably the most solid of all proposals put forth so far. Good work guys!

Budget Proposal - Proof of Labour

The 2nd tier opens the door to very interesting things like smart contracts and all sorts of different ways to decentralize stuff. I'm all for it. I think it could create a very valuable Dash ecosystem of apps and be a real boost for the project. Let's not forget that the first smart contract...

I think we can get one of these 5 websites/wallets to include Dash. Would be cool to have IDless ways of getting into Dash.
