    Development Update - Oct 1, 2014

Great points! Especially 4. Growing organically is what's best for the coin. Furthermore, if the DRK/fiat rate increases then we will pick up even more MNs than you estimate (as whatever it costs to run a MN is paid in fiat). In addition to what you said, my main concern would be the...

    Development Update - Oct 1, 2014

IF this could be done then yes the total hashpower wouldn't matter and we could basically say "screw the miners". Will leave a bad taste in more than a few people's months, however...

    Development Update - Oct 1, 2014

Well is Evan trying to secure against sybil attacks or something else? Or maybe he is just trying to make the whole Darksend infrastructure more decentralized. I dunno. Plus there is the network security as a whole to consider. If the MN reward goes to 40% and miners start dropping left and...

    Development Update - Oct 1, 2014

I just assumed that was just because there where never enough people using small amounts. Jira is down right now so I can't check if the issue has been posted, but if it has then it will get taken care of just like everything else that has been posted. However, I don't see how that relates to...

By "microwallet" do you mean denomination of sub 1 coin? I though the solution to that was just adding smaller denomination levels when the price increase warranted,

OK so maybe that is neither here nor there, but I still say raising the MN percentage is not a good idea.

    Development Update - Oct 1, 2014

My thoughts as well. For 2000 nodes you would need the payment to be about 40% which I personally think is too much even if the masternodes are handing instant confirmation in the future. POW is expensive and miners should be well compensated. Plus from a liquidity standpoint having 40~50% of...

    RC5 Launch (MANDATORY UPDATE)

The RC4 system had some issues (repeated elections) and some vulnerabilities, so RC5 is back to the same as RC3... random voting.

    RC5 Launching September 22nd

Hence why I asked. Pools need some advanced warning.

    RC5 Launching September 22nd

Can we get a confirmation as to when enforcement will be turned on? Right at release -- or some time later after people "have had time to update"?

    v0.10.13.x RC5 Testing

Request for the following pre-opensource: One of these was mentioned before, but I think the following two things are very important now that we are about to open-source. 1. Update the Darksend paper. Mentioned before, I know -- but this is very important IMO. Once we open source a lot of...

Agree, especially about the press release.

You are preachin' to the choir man.

    v0.10.13.x RC5 Testing

I guess. I think this is just a personal preference thing. I don't think the current bar is confusing, but if the majority do then a looping status bar is far better than nothing.

    v0.10.13.x RC5 Testing

Ok, but that is the point of the bar. To show people that something is happening even though no coins are yet anonymous. You can't expect noobs to use coin control. What is the alternative? No progress information? A "your coins are 5.234566/8" readout? I see the current as the best possible...

    v0.10.13.x RC5 Testing

Is there a specific bug you are talking about? I haven't seen anything that "doesn't make sense" about the progress bar on the lastest version. You really have to try to think about someone who knows nothing about DRK and is the classic skeptical crypto user/investor. Telling someone like that...

    v0.10.13.x RC5 Testing

The problem with this is that it often takes hours for any coins to show up as anonymized (even on mainnet). In the meantime the laymen user has NO idea if the software is working or not. The advanced user can check coin control, but I'd bet most people had no idea coin control even existed. I...

There is already a message called "Darksend Denominate"... Maybe splitting inputs? Dunno

    v0.10.13.x RC5 Testing

Ok guys. It is known that the bar is buggy. Just wait to the next version. http://jira.darkcoin.qa/browse/DRK-80

    Reply to Kristov's paper

Evan, this may be a silly question, but if in a blinded setup it is possible to ban malicious peers (as you mention above) then why can't we ban them AND force them to pay collateral. After all, to ban them don't we (the network) need to know who they are?
