Will this also affect DASH: Some BTC Miners Generating Invalid Blocks

Here is the original post:

Litecoin has the same problem. Do we have the same problem and an update to fix it if we do?

Since it's not a protocol weakness there's no fix, no matter which blockchain you use.

People who are running a mining pool and are too greedy (don't want to run a full node) to verify whether the created blocks are valid or not are the problem.

I just had this discussion in IRC and Wolf0 said:

[09:35:42] <Wolf`> molly: I think whoever was stupid enough to mine to a light wallet should be taken out back and shot
[09:43:50] <Wolf`> Light wallets are insecure by nature
[09:43:58] <Wolf`> and only exist because people are whiny
[09:44:15] <Wolf`> and they want to use their coins without having the space and computing power it takes to be a part of the network
[09:44:36] <Wolf`> so they offload that part to a server admin, who may or may not lie to them about what's in the blockchain

Eventually, masternodes will be serving up the blockchain for lite wallets, which is far safer and secure, as it's a decentralized source that must agree with itself and the miners.
