masternode genkey command doesn't do anything

When I go to the darkcoin-qt console and type:
masternode genkey
I get "masternode list|count|current|votes> passphrase
(code -1)"

This is like the first step on every guide I've read, and it doesn't work at all. What's wrong?
P.S. Just in case I tried:
"masternode genkey"
I get "Method not found (code -32601)"

Putting masternode=0 in the darkcoin.conf file doesn't change anything. Do the 1000 DRK have to be in the wallet first?

You are running the wrong wallet - download the RC2 version (0.10.10.2) from darkcoin.io and it should work like expected.
