Dash Turkish Community / Ambassador

Batuhanyildirim

New member
Hello Everyone, I’m Batuhan

I would like to briefly introduce myself.

My name is Batuhan, and I live in Turkey. I have been active in the crypto sector for over 4-5 years, working in alignment with Turkey’s strategic position in the market. I’ve been familiar with the Dash project for quite some time. I would like to provide brief information and visuals about the projects I have previously worked on.

Epic Cash
Firo
Charity Token
Peercoin (Video support)

I have actively worked on these projects. Currently, I serve as the Community Manager of Firo in Turkey (although we have decided to make this role more flexible). In this regard, I would like to receive some feedback on how I can contribute to Dash.

Turkey has recently entered a turbulent period due to inflation. However, over the past 5 years, the number of crypto users has significantly increased. In the 2023 surveys, more than 40% of the country’s population is reported to be investing in crypto. In line with this, many crypto events are already taking place in Turkey. I want to address this issue and work on helping people protect their money against inflation while prioritizing privacy and security.

Planned Activities:

Social Media:
Social media is the most important communication tool today. The goal is to reach audiences by regularly sharing images and videos on Dash’s social media accounts (X, Instagram, TikTok) on a daily basis. These posts will consist of educational and informative content to encourage new people to join us. I also aim to make the community more active by hosting live chats on X on specific days.

YouTube: I am considering starting a weekly video series for YouTube. This series will start from the basics, so even people with no prior knowledge will be able to understand the vision and mission of the Dash project after watching the videos. The plan is to release 1 new video each week (around 5 minutes in length) and share 2 short videos weekly to build an audience.

Telegram: By creating a Telegram group, I aim to answer the questions of potential Turkish users and investors, organize regular events to keep the group active, and ensure that anyone seeking information about the project receives quick responses.

In addition to these, I aim to represent the project in real life by organizing various events, such as university conferences, tea meetings, and other activities.

Visuals of social activities I have done in the past ;

During IstanbulBlockChain week in Turkey, I was there to make new connections. (2024)

Social environmental activities with the local community

I organized an environmental event for +40 people where all participants created their wallet address and joined the community. I wanted to emphasize that the projects are intertwined with the community in social activities as well as in the Development and Privacy aspects.

The official teams of the municipality where I live also took part in the event. My wife helped me in this process :)

Public transport vehicle project

I made seat covers for public transportation, reached +1000 people daily and it took months. During the first 3 months over +70 people joined the community and created a wallet address.

In addition to these events, I have also created many youtube videos to help people get information about the projects.

I organized a gaming tournament and provided all the information to the participants, creating a wallet address

In this context, I aim for the Dash project to have a stronger presence in Turkey and gain popularity by creating an audience.
In line with my responsibilities, I believe that I can play a leading role in all kinds of Dash-related activities in Turkey.

Of course, I am aware that the main focus is to move forward as a Volunteer, but I still need to take part in the system by doing my job professionally. It doesn't change the fact that I have a wife and a little baby to take care of. Still, if a volunteer can support me for the first month, I will have the opportunity to prove myself.

I would also like to state that I will contribute to the society by acting as a volunteer in all other matters during my working period. You can support me with your positive or negative feedback.

Sincerely regards

This post is not an offer, but an introduction of myself to join the Dash project. I would like to emphasize that I will respect all positive/negative feedback from the community :)
Please join our Discord server for more timely discussion/chat. Link is under the Dash Links menu in the Forum header. I have crossposted this post in the Pre-proposal channel there. You'll get more timely feedback there.

@GrandMasterDash I would love you to join the discussion in the Pre-Proposal section on Discord :)
I don't do discord and, for some reason, admins here are often re-directing people to discord, even though you independently chose to be here. It's like they are intentionally hijacking users.

This is the official dash forum. You will notice the subdomain forum.dash.org re-directs to a folder at dash.org. The discord link, however, goes to discord.com, which dash does not own.

I respect your ideas and thoughts. Since Discord is a place where people can communicate more easily, it serves as a tool for newcomers like me to reach more people. Nevertheless, I am here and ready to answer any questions you may have. Before making any offer, I would be happy to introduce myself and share some information.

I'm not sure what your offer is. Generally, I'm okay with small community lead initiatives so long as they are cheap and honest. I like to see passion before greed and realistic goals than hype.

A baby is a full time job, good luck finding free time! for the first couple of years! :D

Important note: I guess dash is an easy sell in a place like Turkey. However, I wanna say, I'm more interested in activity based sponsorships than simply pushing products because it has features X, Y and Z. For example, if someone is streaming local sports events (football, basketball, volleyball etc) and you can get physical placements - banners, clothing etc - then I'm really interested.

Thank you for the valuable feedback. My proposal is to create resources and build a community around Dash in Turkey. I aim to engage in activities that will help grow a dedicated audience.

Currently, the DASH/TRY pair is available on BTCTurk, the largest local exchange in Turkey.

I have the opportunity to organize various local events.

My goal is to become an Ambassador who takes full responsibility for Dash-related activities in Turkey.

To prove myself to the community and the Masternode (MN) holders, I will request 30 Dash for one month of work. I believe this is a fair amount.

Regarding events, after proving myself, I would have the opportunity to make additional proposals. I am aware of the current budget limitations, so I won’t make high-cost proposals at this point.

I can hang banners at local football fields or create seat covers for public transportation. It all depends on proving myself and being accepted by the community!

Additionally, I would like to mention that during the work period, I will provide partial transparency by submitting progress reports every two weeks. These reports will include social media statistics, Telegram engagement, and other relevant metrics.

Despite the lack of any active promotion in Turkey, the DASH/TRY pair is very popular and actively traded. Conducting local initiatives will help further expand and contribute to the growth of Dash in the region.

Well, forgive me for being blunt but I don't think I would vote Yes for this in it's current format. Dash had various ambassador programs in the past and they all eventually fell apart.

I strongly feel that dash itself should not be the main event. Give us live event coverage with supporting material, whether it's sports, music, poker, comedy etc. Give the audience value to stick around.

I'm glad you appreciate my honesty. It’s true that I will act as an ambassador. However, the key difference is this:

Imagine a community where everyone speaks Turkish as their native language. Even if there are banners, jerseys, etc., how successful can their experience with Dash be if they can’t find Turkish-language support? I can certainly create such materials, but some things require a budget. If I have the opportunity to establish local initiatives and create Turkish resources, I could launch a social campaign later on (next month).

However, before that, it would be more effective to first focus on building a community and sharing information with people. If I create a banner and then disappear, it would be a failed initiative.

Still, I will take my chances and work towards building a strong Dash community in Turkey. That way, we’ll have an audience ready for future projects.

A community around what, the product itself, an echo chamber?

If you give me a static website for dash in Turkey, I'll host it for you for free and I'll provide stats. Once you have your landing pages, no need to build a community around the product. It's like building a community around Ariel washing powder or something, no one's going to be interested. No, you need something with wider appeal.

For 30 dash, it's possible you will win a proposal. The dash dao has no incentives for profitable results. The MNOs will vote because it's easy to spend other people's money (the treasury) with no obvious short term consequences. But I would look down on such leeching.

To effectively communicate Dash’s technology to people, it is crucial to first emphasize what DASH is. In this context, this is an introductory effort. Simply putting up a poster or organizing an event without any preliminary information or concrete offerings might not be the best approach.

I agree with you that promoting DASH in visible, public spaces is a sensible idea. You can see this from previous events I’ve organized. Ultimately, this is an introductory proposal, and setting up a Telegram group where people can seek help, managing social media accounts, and sharing content with accurate information are essential for building the foundational infrastructure.

How can I reach people for a local event without any social access? Allow me to prove myself in community development and audience building during the first month. After that, you will see that I will have the opportunity to implement any ideas and projects you suggest here.

The idea of setting up a website in the future sounds appealing.

Of course, there will be differing opinions in any community with a voting system. This is the best method for improving the project.

I’m not sure whether the 30 Dash proposal will be accepted. What I’m trying to create is a circulation. After building an audience in the first month, I plan to use resources like social projects and websites to maximize the audience.

Although we have different views on promotional activities, I appreciate your suggestions within the bounds of respect.

I will continue to gather feedback from the community and, if I receive positive responses, I will make a proposal. I ask you to trust my experience in providing visual content for social purposes, as you requested. If I make a proposal, I would love for you to evaluate the first month and then see what I can achieve with subsequent proposals.

Everything yields successful results when done slowly and in a timely manner. Take a football project as an example. It took about a year. It’s been 2 years now, but I reached at least 300-400 new users who created wallet addresses.

I was present there with a promotion desk, giving presentations to people. :)

I directed the user to Discord because it is an active chat with different users, he may also want to try some of the Telegram chats, different groups of voters hang there as well.
Links should also be under Dash links.
