Sir Alpha_goy, Alpha Centauri is not a true binary star system, it has a 3rd companion of a red dwarf that is a quarter of a light year away and is in front of the other 2 brighter stars so it is difficult to resolve called Alpha Proxima hence extrapolating patterns from the orbits is based on incomplete data. this is the closest known star to our solar system btw. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxima_Centauri
