You don't need read anything by Hilawe. Here's the deal. A group of community members want DCG dismantled. They want core dev to be run by Andy's Incubator and they want the marketing to be run by Mark Mason, Mastermined, and Joel Valenzuela (DashForce). For those of you who need a picture, here...
We're basically in the midst of civil war here. Everyone who values DCG should leave the "Dash Discord" and only discuss things here. I personally don't believe there is much hope, but at least that is something. I took down my last masternode today.
I am going to repost something I wrote here on May 30:
Our journey to the promised land of Evo adoption is not assured. We have to avoid the following pitfalls:
1. Evo is never released. This could happen if some people here succeed in destroying DCG and we no longer have a competent CTO.
2...
Evo is going to be late. WE need to make some announcements to generate excitement. All of the things I mentioned are GOOD IDEAS. INNOVATIVE. These are not fluff. AFAIK, no coin has implemented CoinPrune yet. WITH LLMQ IT'S A SNAP!
I forgot to add that we should be implementing CoinPrune so that the Dash blockchain doesn't grow forever. So here, once again, is my fantasy plan to make Dash exciting and relevant:
- Announce to the world the removal of CoinJoin from the Dash protocol and do it ASAP.
- Fund a fork of Wasabi...
You don't understand the nature of software development.
IMHO we're a bit doomed without a competent CTO like Bob Carroll. I don't blame him for leaving. It's the DAO's fault for encouraging the developers to go rogue.
Ryan created the Irrevocable Trust because he thought the DAO should have dominion over DCG and the rest of Dash's IP. He didn't have to do that. He invented and instantiated the DIF. And even then, the DIF was struggling until Darren asked him to come on board. Ryan was able to husband DCG's...
We have A LOT of problems that cannot be fixed without a fork...
1 - CoinJoin must go. It doesn't do what it's supposed to do, it doesn't need to be part of the protocol, and it's preventing us from being included in important services like BitPay.
2 - InstantSend cannot possibly scale and so...
The problem is the DAO. The DAO is schitzo...
- We elected three trust protectors who are hostile to DCG -- the main thing they're elected to protect.
- We voted to create a slush fund for the developers who are supposed to be employed by DCG.
- Ryan tried to improve things with a proposal to...
Ryan does not need a secretary.
IMHO Ryan should resign from DCG, the DIF, and the Trust -- just walk away from the whole mess. It was a mistake to give the DAO so much power. He should then get to work on creating a fork of Dash over which the Dash DAO has no control.
The ability to push the treasury to 20% had nothing whatsoever to do with DCG. ANY proposal(s) from ANY entity or individual could have pushed the treasury temporarily up to 20%. And this power would still have been in the MNOs hands.
This is nonsense. MNOs are not THAT stupid.
I suppose this is my Waterloo. I will have to take down the one last masternode I was keeping as a souvenir if this passes. It was all I could stand having to read about the fictional accomplishments of DashRetail and DashPress. Next up is Joel's Incubator Initiative and God knows what other...
Aren't you the one who booted me from your Dash Discord the moment I arrived? SMH.
You imagine that making it easier for wannabees and con artists to apply for grants from the treasury will increase Dash's mindshare. LOL.
Dash is boring. We are executing an ancient, six year old plan that needs to be changed to generate excitement. We can't change because there is a leadership vacuum at the moment. So the coders keep coding and the marketers keep marketing a product that is no longer exciting or relevant.
