The team will then wait for 24 blocks until all locks are mined or expired (approximately 1\u20132 hours). During that time, <strong>InstantSend will not be available<\/strong>. This is to ensure a smooth transition to the new system. After all the \u201cold\u201d locked transactions are mined or expired, we will enable the new version of InstantSend using the LLMQ-Based InstantSend spork (spork 20). As described in previous posts, the new version uses long living masternode quorums (\u201cLLMQs\u201d) to lock transactions, instead of the old quorum system.<\/p>\n<p>After monitoring the network for about 1 hour from the activation of the new InstantSend to ensure the transition was successful, we will fully enable ChainLocks with spork 19. With DIP8 already in place, this step will allow for blocks to begin getting locked. This will also allow for \u201cchained\u201d InstantSend to begin occurring, allowing for instantly respendable payments.<\/p>\n<p>Below is the anticipated timing of each step on July 2.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8AM UTC: Deactivation of old InstantSend<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>9AM UTC*: Activation of new InstantSend<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>10AM UTC*: Activation of ChainLocks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>*Times are subject to change depending on how the activation process goes. You can view the status of the spork activations <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/178.254.23.111\/~pub\/Dash\/sporks.html\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\"><em>here<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Users of DashWallet on both iOS and Android should be sure to update to the latest version of the app as soon as possible to take advantage of the new features.<\/p>\n<p>These few steps represent the last big milestones of the Dash Core v0.14 rollout. Thank you to all our partners and network operators for your responsiveness and collaboration, which helped make this a smooth and methodical release.
