Six community members from a pool of twenty candidates were selected by the project\u2019s 5,000\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptobriefing.com\/pooled-masternodes-dash\/\">masternodes<\/a>, and will now oversee the project\u2019s trust.<\/p>\n<p>These trust protectors can now affect changes at Dash Core Group (DCG) and direct operations of the\u00a0 project on behalf of the network.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe believe this creates far greater accountability of DCG to the network,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0said Ryan Taylor, CEO of Dash Core Group.\u00a0<em>\u201cIndeed, this establishes a legally binding fiduciary duty to the Trust and ultimately the network itself. \u201c<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This election process makes Dash unique among cryptocurrency startups, many of which rely on self-appointed foundations to guide the network\u2019s development.
