{"id":16858,"date":"2017-02-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-01-31T16:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2019.dash.org\/2017\/02\/01\/copay-dash-wallet-testnet-only-rc-0-1\/"},"modified":"2021-09-18T11:40:08","modified_gmt":"2021-09-18T11:40:08","slug":"copay-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dash.org\/news\/copay-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Copay-Dash Wallet (Testnet Only \/ RC 0.1)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m happy to announce a \u201cRelease Candidate\u201d version of Copay-Dash, a variant of the Copay wallet which was originally developed by Bitpay.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the usual characteristics of other wallets, this fully-featured app boasts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The ability to access multiple Dash wallets within a single app<\/li>\n<li>HD-Multisignature Wallet Derivation (BIP32\/BIP44)<\/li>\n<li>Exchange Rate Calculation (150+ currencies)<\/li>\n<li>Multilanguage Support<\/li>\n<li>Streamlined User Interface<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Copay is available for all major operating systems, both desktop and mobile, however at the moment the Dash version will be made available only as a Chrome extension. This release has undergone preliminary testing but at this stage is intended only for Testnet. Once we\u2019ve achieved 100% stability we plan on distributing builds supporting additional platforms.<\/p>\n<p>You can read more about Copay at <a href=\"https:\/\/copay.io\">https:\/\/copay.io<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Backend Mechanics<\/p>\n<p>This wallet is powered by Bitcore Wallet Service <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/dashpay\/bitcore-wallet-service-dash\">https:\/\/github.com\/dashpay\/bitcore-wallet-service-dash<\/a> and uses a centralized server to do the heavy lifting. This server maintains a full copy of the blockchain and provides notifications to connected clients when transactions affecting their wallet occurs, similar to how an Electrum Server operates. It\u2019s worth noting that despite this \u201cclient-server\u201d relationship, your private keys are always held locally and are never revealed to the centralized server.<\/p>\n<p>Copay-Dash is able to maintain this \u201cuntrusted\u201d relationship with the wallet server through the use of Bitcore Wallet Client <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/dashpay\/bitcore-wallet-client-dash\">https:\/\/github.com\/dashpay\/bitcore-wallet-client-dash<\/a>.
