Proposal is live here, kindly vote: https://www.dashcentral.org/p/BLOCKCHAINAIConferenceMerchantsAdoption

This proposal will help Dash achieve adoption and use in Africa. It entails sponsoring the Blockchain Conference, to organising a conference monthly for 2 months for Merchants who wish to start accepting Dash. We're also going to get some staff to join the business integrations and development arm. We will be rolling out between 5 - 10 major integrations for Dash.

In total, we will reach out to over 500 merchants and sign up about half of them on discoverdash.com.

We will be doing these and more for less than 1% of the budget this month.

What are MNOs saying?

TanteStefana
This team is so hard working, they cost so little when compared to Venezuela and do just as much. They are behind Venezuela now because they haven't been funded all summer. Really, the comments I see from some MNOs are so unfair, and considering the potential Africa holds, having such a dedicated team on the ground who have reached out to neighboring countries (by invitation, not by spending funds that we've given them for other things) we can set the continent on a roll never seen before. Give the people the freedom, and the rapers will lose. This will set off a Renascence in Africa, it simply can do nothing else. It is human nature to grow when allowed to. Dash's network will grow from this now, not much but slowly. However 10 to 20 years from now, Africa will bey like China with or without Dash (the genie is out of the bottle). Lets make it WITH Dash!

Some ongoing integrations are:

Yellowcard.io is the first cryptocurrency gift card that allows people buy cryptocurrency from local stores.
They're present in 160,000 locations globally and 55,000 locations across 13 African countries including Nigeria, Ghana, and Zimbabwe.
This would allow people buy Dash is smaller denominations. Exchanges usually have a minimum of $100 for any trade. But with this, people can buy Dash offline worth $5, $10, $20, $50.
Having this will greatly solve the existing liquidity issues of Dash.

Kindly note: 10 integrations are in the pipeline and will have announcements on them as they're successfully sealed.

Dash has been position to be the leading innovative cryptocurrency been adopted in Nigeria and still exploring every part of Africa. Understanding this, Dash can stand to be the frontier of every creative idea put in place to promote blockchain in Nigeria by taking charge and sponsoring every mega and innovative conferences, setting the pace in leading blockchain development in Nigeria and Africa at large. Sponsoring an event of this kind, it will provide a good way of promoting and increasing Dash awareness in Nigeria, which will help to expand community base, Dash cryptocurrency user, investors and generate more business partnership for Dash.

It is time to have Dash Fintech conferences in other parts of Nigeria. These are not conferences for students and youth, they are conferences for professionals and Business owners. These are our best shots at mass adoption.

A cost efficient method would be to sponsor/ partner with other major Blockchain events in the country. The first of this will be to Sponsor the annual BLOCKCHAIN & AI Conference in Nigeria.

Abuja Blockchain and AI Round-Table: Beyond Cryptocurrencies
, will hold from the 19th-20th of October, 2018 at Ladi Kwali Hall, of Sheraton Hotels, Abuja, Nigeria.

The Conference will bring together business leaders, government and regulatory agencies, data practitioners, AI and Blockchain tech pioneers who are applying artificial intelligence to solve today’s problems and creating tomorrow’s opportunities, while leveraging available tools, to create entirely new values.

This conference is a great opportunity to meet other companies we would approach to integrate Dash.

Benefits of Dash Sponsorship: Blockchain & AI Conference in Nigeria

Dash has been one of the cryptocurrency that have shown a remarkable interest in making Nigeria a target market. Becoming the sponsor of this event, will reinforce awareness among Nigerians that are knowledgeable and enthusiast of cryptocurrency on the value and services provided by Dash, this in the long run bring a tangible form of positive return of investment (ROI).

Dash will stand to enjoy wide range of benefit, which are:

1. Raise Dash awareness and create preferences

2. Get more businesses to adopt Dash as means of payment

3. Visibility before industry leaders who will integrate Dash in their businesses

4. Dash community expansion and bring new investors

5. Market Dash product and services with attractive content

6. Generate internal commitment to Dash in Nigeria

Sponsorship gives us:

1. 30 minutes speaking opportunity to pitch dash
2. Booth at the event
3. Opportunity to co-host the evening networking event
4. All participants would set up a dash wallet and get a tip
5. Dash to be a means of payment at the event
6. Visibility of dash in the press

Dash Business Adoption Campaign

This is a campaign solely to sign up new businesses, merchants, and companies to Dash. This campaign will run for 2 months and would reach over 500 companies/ businesses / merchants.

Estimated number of participants per conference would come from over 200 businesses, companies, and organisations ranging from online shops, to offline businesses, exchanges, blockchain and cryptocurrency based organisations, and savings/ credit-facility institutions.

We will leverage on the mailing lists of the Blockchain and AI conference above, and our previous events to ensure our publicity is strategic and direct.

We will also leverage on bitcoinafrica.io, cryptotvplus.com, and other websites for adverts.

The staff would be in charge of creating and nurturing business relationship with clients till it becomes successful and coordinating the entire project.

We are working to integrate Dash to major online stores, more exchanges, and blockchain/ cryptocurrency focused organizations.

Some ongoing integrations are: Yellowcard, Bitpesa, Tradefada, Cryptostorez, Kurecoin and several others.

PROPOSAL VIDEO

Things achieved through our previous projects include:

1. Over a thousand wallets created

2. New 500+ users used dash to recharge their mobile phones

3. Hundreds of users bought Dash as an investment

4. More ambassadors are getting on board and taking the course on dashafrica.org. Over 250 participants have taken the course as at last count.

5. Dash has become a prominent feature in the global market, specifically Africa.
The statistics from Nigeria look very impressive, but, those statistics are just from about 10% of Nigeria. While the Economic capital of Nigeria is Lagos. The Dash Nigeria office is based in Lagos and lots of our activities have been in and around Lagos, save for meetups that are country wide.

Funding Breakdown

Exclusive Diamond Sponsorship 10,000

After series of discussions with the organizers, we agreed to pay in Dash at a fixed price of $300 per Dash. This means the organizers would accept Dash, and hold till Dash gets to $300 before they sell.

This implies we would be paying 33.33 instead of 55.5 Dash

Materials:
2 Rollups $100 = $200

10 shirts $15 = $150

Transportation plus accommodation for 4 team members $800

Token for team: $150 * 4 = 600
Giveaway: $600 for 200 new wallets ($3 each)
Proposal fee reimbursement: 5 Dash

Subtotal:
$2,350/200 + 33.33 + 5 = 50 Dash

Venue $1,500

Refreshment $1,800

Conference materials $1,000

Publicity (Radio, Online ads, fliers and posters) $450

Logistics $400

Photo and Video $500

Shirts 12 * 100 = $1200

Banners $200

$7,250 * 2 = $14,100

$3 for 300 new wallets $900

4 Staff on Salary for 2 months $400 = $1,600 * 2 = $3,200

Total = $18,200 / 200 = 91

91 + 50 = 141/ 3 = 47 Dash for 3 months

Hello Nathaniel,

Thank you for preparing this pre-proposal to solicit feedback. My initial reaction is that the ROI on this proposal could be improved by cutting costs. It looks like the $3100 for materials could be trimmed down a bit.

Noted. We would find a way to reduce it before the proposal goes live for voting.

Thanks for your suggestion.

@Nathaniel Luz -- Thank you for your pre-proposal. It seems you've been hard at work and are making some headway in Nigernia, but I'm curious about how you record and how we can verify the records in your list #1-5? I wasn't able to find those points in your Dash Watch records. The total cost of the proposal is a little bit steep for what we generally pay out for conferences, though that could be partially accounted for by the "sponsorship" aspect. What do you anticipate the effects of your participation in this conference will be both for your team and for Dash as a whole?

Hello @Arthyron ,

I commend your study of preproposals and advice to proposal owners always. The network is grateful to have such people who contribute to discussions consistently.

Thanks for your remarks on our works.

Our Dash watch report submission was in 2 phases, Dash watch is yet to upload the final report on the website.

On airtime refills:
https://www.dashforcenews.com/dash-continues-expansion-in-nigeria/
https://www.dashforcenews.com/bitre...ation-including-10-off-orders-paid-with-dash/

On Dash Africa Training:
https://dashafrica.org/courses/dash-cryptocurrency/
We also have series of calls using Google hangout/ Zoom for the ambassadors training. These ambassadors assist with holding Dash meetups, and mostly with scouting for Business adoptions and integrations.

On Business Adoption:
We've succeeded in getting several businesses to start accepting Dash. We're now working on POS integrations for these businesses. Our work has been a bit slow as we work part-time since we've been working without a proposal for months.

A major resistance to business adoption was price volatility. Good news! We've conquered that.

In the next one month, several of the adoptions and integrations would have been done.

Some are... Yellowcard, Bitpesa, Coindirect, and several others still in the pipeline.

We'd love to state that adoption isn't sudden. However, we're for for the task and have been on it.

We'd be editing this proposal soon to add the Businesses Adoption and Integrations soon.

Thanks.

What do you anticipate the effects of your participation in this conference will be both for your team and for Dash as a whole?
1. Networking with other Blockchain and Cryptocurrency platforms and companies. A lot of networking goes on in such events that span 2 days. There'd be evening meetup sessions, exhibition sessions, etc. We see this as a great opportunity to reach a lots of such organisations at once. It was in events like this we met with Yellowcard, Bitpesa, etc.

2. Increased awareness by having a DASH booth at the event.

3. Creation of new wallets.

4. Raising new ambassadors.

5. Other benefits that would arise from the event.
