xn--tckwe is the PUNY code for .com in Japanse
I initially purchased this a while ago hoping to profit it off it.
I now believe the best thing to do is to offer it to the Dash team for free.

I am however not opposed to receiving any generous donations :) .
Someone from the team , Please contact me and we can arrange for the transfer of the domain.

Haven't managed this TLD before, but I'll be happy to take a stab at it.

Would it be jarring for japanese users to be served an english site when visiting that domain name?

I can gladly transfer the domain to you @moocowmoo . Please PM me to confirm.
Well , Ideally we would need to like have a part time japanese translater , I guess ...
What I do know is that there are a lot of sites purely in Japanese .
Someone may correct me if I am wrong , but about 85% people in japan primarily prefer Japanese over english.
I kinda did a lot of research before putting the $$ during the sunrise period . :)

    Hi @risinhigher!

    Thanks for this gracious gift!

I'm sure we'll have a Japanese site translation, I just don't know how quickly.

I've signed this as double proof I'm me. :)

A quick search for registrars supporting this transfer came up with the following:

    Espace2001
    Dynadot
    Name.com
    Gandi.net
    101domain
    Regtons
    EuroDNS

If anybody has any suggestion of one over the other (or others I should look into), please let me know!

    Thanks!

@moocowmoo Also , I spoke to a couple of folks who recently came back from Japan. Japan is primarily a non english speaking country . Except for tokyo and a few other countries.
I suggest we ramp up the japanese translate thing .. to make sure we keep up with bitcoins acceptance in japan ! @babygiraffe can create a proposal to maybe help hire that person .

Also , please understand that I respect your time(s). This is merely a sugesstion . I am sure there are many other things that you guys have on your plate . I wont be offended if this is ignored :)

risinhigher, I been to Japan many times and my twin sister is married to a Japanese from Osaka.your domain name is useless in Japan as no one uses it there..one can register with the ff: .jp ,.co.jp, ne.jp, org.jp but never xn--tckwe.

If I felt like arguing, I could argue that:

Some things that might today be is' (izzes) could become tomorrow's was' (wuzzes).

But that'd be a little vague, if not fun to say. So instead I'll argue that:

Maybe the katakana KO and MU might prove more familiar and easier to type than the not-built-for-humans-oddly-shaped-bootstring-(puny)-encoded version?

Or did you not realize that it's a two character tld? What we've been graciously gifted is:

    dash.コム

Which is using purpose-built katakana for exactly the purpose it was built for: incorporating foreign word sounds into Japanese writing. Here, the closest approximation to the English pronunciation of com [kom] which is コム [KO,MU].

    ---

Do you still think useless? Break it down for me.

And, if you have an actual argument why using an alphabet is useless, bonus points if you can tell me why you're still using one. ;)

I can also confirm Japanese language is not only preferred but also the only option for most Japanese users and a must for wider adoption.
I can help with translation, please let me know.
