Hi guys. My masternode in the wallet is showing a status of NEW_START_REQUIRED. I did some research and found this

Why exactly did this happen and how can I resolve it without losing the risk of missing a payment?

Thank you.

Follow the "Note:" above - check it on https://www.dashninja.pl/masternodes.html or on any other node if you have one. If you have it in non-active/NEW_START_REQUIRED state on sevaral nodes - you have to start it again. If you host it on a very low end VPS, DDoS attack might be the reason it was knocked down. https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/ongoing-ddos-attack-on-masternode-network.13468/

Thank you for your reply, as always! It says active and everything is green, it shows "NEW_START_REQUIRED" only on the wallet. I found this post

Remote Start from Wallet Required
If you have upgraded from a previous version of Dash, but have not issued a remote-start from your Dash 12.1 Wallet within 70 minutes, your masternode will transition to NEW_START_REQUIRED.

That's exactly what happened, I updated to the latest version but did not "issue a remote-start from your DASH 12.1", because I don't know how do do it. What is a "Dash 12.1"? Does it mean the dash wallet or the dashhd process on the masternode?

How exactly can I restart without losing my next payment please?

If your masternode was running on protocol < 70206 before update, then yes, you have to start it again (make sure to update local wallet too), and no, you can preserve your place in a queue if that's the case. If however you updated masternode which was on 70206 protocol already and it was offline only for a few minutes, you don't need to start it again, normally it should start again by itself.

Wouldn't this put me at the bottom of the payment queue? If so how could I get rid of this status or do the restart without losing my position?

I have the same question. I have a NEW_START-REQUIRED status showing in Dash Core and I'm not sure why. It shows ENABLED when I do a dash-cli masternodelist full.
