Hello could someone help a hand

I'm new to dash, and I'm looking to buy coin but need advice in getting started? Iv also herd its more complicated as I'm from the UK due to exchanging UK sterling to and from dash is this true? Please could someone point me in the right direction thanks.

From what iv read and been told, I need to create a wallet which I down load on my desk top. Then find a coin provider who buys and sells coins.

Do I just change my UK sterling to dash through this provider? Or do I have to buy BTC 1st From sterling then exchange that for dash coins?

Please any advice would be much appreciated as I am very new to this. Thanks
