Diversifying and simplifying

So, there's only so much time in the day to research the subject, so I was hoping to get some insight on this:

With all of the cryptocurrencies out there and many new ones popping up each day-- what do folks consider and discern when choosing cryptos to invest in and monitor? Also, do you consider having multiple wallets? One per device (i.e. phone/computer)? I figure we're all a little different in how we operate, I'm just looking for ideas on how to optimize my modest life in this respect.
