Hello Everybody!
Let's imagine that Self-sustaining project management is going live tomorrow. I would like to hear from the community what project proposals would members of this forum like to see to get introduced.I certainly think that a wallet for iPhone is a priority at this moment but as far as I know, a full client for iPhone is already being developed. If that is the case, so maybe a full security audit of the code would be my number two on my list. What would you guys vote for?

I know its been said a number of times before and there are many competing specialist apps that do the job, but I would love to see an encrypted wallet to wallet messaging service using the masternodes(and on phones), perhaps setting the messages with lifespan of 1day/1 week/1 month to be picked up and read.
Also could have a global (send to all option) type wallet unencrypted message option, perhaps snippets of Dash news that could be sent out, such as essential updates or tip of the day, to avoid spam there could be a fee attached to this and only 1 message per 10 blocks or something.
User names connected to public keys could be registered on a decentralized data base held on the masternodes (for a small fee) and then you only have to send to the user and bingo, flashes a light into the wallet or beep beeps, also having a confirm on recieved like with emails but highly encrypted, off chain, and vaporizing for added security.

Trip to Vegas... or tickets to something or a lottery for a big whack of coin once a month for some lucky MN owner, something for an added incentive to run a masternode and maybe something similar for monthly donations to one of a list of majority-approved charities could get some good karma.

Full autonomy right down to the website, this forum, project maintainer, etc. Could start with something small and simple as its uncharted ground but its coming and (imho) Dash should be right there at the front of it.

External investments, related stuff initially but maybe going out further into regular markets, IPOs/crowdfunding etc.

Dash ID's, online identities enabled by cryptos could be even bigger than cryptos themselves, that with the dark aspect could be a killer app.

All the coloured coin, contracts, internet of things type stuff, its a contentious issue but its likely to be as big an area as IDs for cryptos and Dash has the agility to keep up with its evolution. Storage will play a big part in that and imho Bitcoin could be left behind if it doesn't consider all these block size issues from that aspect.

Distributed storage, something like darkcloud could be another killer app.

Beer :)

xdn can already send encrypted messages from wallet to wallet. they don't even need masternodes for that, isn't it possible to adapt the code?
https://github.com/ducknote/darknote

it is also possible to mine with the xdn wallet. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1082745.msg11580956#msg11580956

So one drawback it is the POW messaging? would be randomly delayed waiting to get placed in a block, it could take 10 minutes for a message, as opposed to seconds, have never tried one of those systems, or does it use a different method.

You can mine from dash wallets. How much can you mine is another question

I'd still like to see a dash electrum wallet to be created.

I would love to pay a dev to fix and improve p2p mining system. We know mining is a structural problem with all crypto, and we now can make a difference.
Not only for Dash, but for all Bitcoin and altcoin community.

Like a gift from Dash to all ecosystem (haters included)

Encompass is Electrum based and runs awesome with Trezor and Dash; JFYI.

The single biggest priority after coin development is a decentralized Dash exchanged created on the Masternode network. The ability to easily buy and sell Dash is key.

http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/11116/what-is-the-definition-of-a-p2p-exchange

The link above provides an interesting read of how limited P2P exchanges currently are. In the sense of exchange between cryptos I think we already have shapeshift and although its not a ture P2P exchange it does the job., When considering Fiat to crypto transactions, however, you assume a huge amount of risk as the exchange can't be sure of whether a transaction was made, and even if you run this through disinterested third parties that act as arbiters, the fiat money paid to the seller can always be reversed or frozen by real world authorities.

I feel like it would be an exercise in futility given how deeply such an exchange would be exploited by today's very sophisticated scammers.

EDIT: Coinffeine seems to have created an interesting solution to this, mainly, an upfront deposit in BTC by both parties to the TX. Doesn't solve the"Real World Authority" issue but interesting.

Sorry if I missed something :)..

Would that exchange operate only on digital currency or fiat would be allowed to? I can see how it would work if only digital currencies are used, but if one wanted to exchange fiat for DASH, centralisation of the banking system would make it really really difficult. I can't imagine how it would be solved.

Edit: I've just read the post above from fible1, it makes some things clearer

I feel like working on the wallet is the logical next step:

1. Deterministic Wallet
2. 2FA
3. etc.

I'm a big fan of working on PR but we need to have our tech up to spec, we are no there yet.

Message by blockchain increases blockchain bloat problem.

I have a question about this, and I freely admit I might not know what I'm talking about here:

Is this really a problem? Won't most people in the future run Electrum like clients, thus rendering the issue of running full nodes and associated problems to service providers? Isn't this the natural evolution of things, and aren't service providers the best people to pay the price of running full nodes and a bloated blockchain?

Pablo.
