[PROJECT ESCROWED WITH DASH-CORE]Dashlancer: Connecting Freelancers & Businesses - Building Dash Adoption For Cross-Border Freelancing Remittances & Creating Dash Access for New Users through Work. LINKS: PREVIOUS PROJECT UPDATES I DASH FREELANCING COURSE I FORUM DISCUSSION ON VIDEOS I RESEARCH REPORT ON FREELANCING I PRE-PROPOSAL SUMMARY This project aims to build and scale up Dashlancer- A platform to match freelancing professionals and business owners for projects transacted exclusively in Dash. We aim to build a real-world business use case for Dash and help new users get access to Dash in exchange for work, especially benefiting countries with no or limited access to Dash currently. Dashlancer creates a way for the community to spend their Dash constructively and enables employers like Treasury proposal owners to directly pay Freelancers in Dash, without converting to Fiat - a painful process for many. Freelancers gain significantly by getting dash designated work, saving on high remittance fees(~8-10%) and getting paid instantly and for a low cost, anywhere in the world. Our Custom illustrated Video on Dashlancing. 225,000 Views The Treasury creates countless jobs every year across Web / Mobile Development, Marketing, Graphics, Video Animation and Design. Most of these jobs listings are scattered. By aggregating those jobs(to begin with) and matching them with quality freelancing talent, this project can facilitate a number of Dash Transactions and demonstrate adoption in the $100B market for Cross-Border Freelancing Remittances before scaling up to more users. This project will build upon our previous work that researched the online freelancing industry, created a Digital Course (See Course) to educate online workers about Dash. Our previous project yielded over 800 freelancer signups interested in Dash based work opportunities and our course videos were viewed ~800,000 times across Asia on Youtube alone. In our research, we also found that Conventional Platforms like Upwork and Fiverr earn up to 25% of their revenues via additional / hidden charges around remittances and currency conversions - Explaining their disinterest in integrating cryptocurrencies like Dash. Freelancers are a high-value and technically advanced set of users and make for an ideal early adopter set. With InstantSend, PivateSend and near-zero fee transactions, Dash is a practical solution for Freelancers to conduct their business - creating ideal conditions for adoption. Additionally, By advertising jobs instead of direct-crypto, we aim to steer clear of the google and Facebook advertising restrictions, while parallelly building up a strong presence on Steemit and Dtube. This project is led by Gaurav Gupta, a Marketing Technologist with a background in marketing for a Talent & Freelancing platforms. The project involves an outlay of 120 Dash/month for 4 months and supports a team of 10 members and a marketing budget. CROSS BORDER MONEY TRANSFERS : EXPENSIVE AND SLOW Freelancers are heavily shortchanged by legacy systems like Paypal and Wire Transfer. They lose significant portions of their incomes to companies like Paypal, Western Union, Moneygram via currency conversion costs, transfer fees and a plethora of hidden charges. In addition, they face long delays, suffer chargeback frauds and arbitrary frozen funds. A median $5,000 cross-border remittance costs $300 to send and takes weeks to process for a large majority of Freelancers today, especially those reaching the developing countries like India, Philippines, Venezuela, Turkey, Argentina. FREELANCING PLATFORMS : A PART OF THE PROBLEM? Organized Freelancing platforms like Upwork and Fiverr are built around the same legacy remittance systems. Our research shows that they make a significant portion of their revenues via (additional) hidden charges around currency conversions, wire transfer fees and outward remittances, making it difficult for them to integrate with currencies like Dash without losing a large revenue stream. While integration with blockchain systems is a trivial problem technically, the loss of a such a large revenue stream for freelancing platforms makes it a difficult decision for them to implement blockchain based systems. DASHLANCER : DEVELOPMENT AIMS, TIMELINES & METHODOLOGY Dashlancer will be engineered as a simple-to-use platform, that offers a clean, modern and responsive design to all users. The platform will demonstrate how simple and inexpensive it can be to hire and pay workers with Dash globally. Project development will be based on the Agile-development approach with 2-week long sprints. Starting with UI/UX, the project intends to build a feature set, followed up by testing with a small group of users to check responses before building further. The platform aims to offer the following features : Add, Manage, Edit, Mark and Categorise Project Listings Preview Listings before posting Company Profiles Searchable Listings Database Resume Management System for Freelancers Jobs Suggest Clean/Modern Interface for Resume Viewing Apply, Manage and Review Project Applications Customised Tags, Permanent / Agency / Temporary Project alerts Filter by Tags Project Bookmarking System Embeddable Widgets on websites Live Customer Support Review and Rating System Dash Payments Integration The development of the project is expected to be completed in 8 Sprints, spread across 4 Stages. PRICING & COST TO USERS As a project to initially scale Dash Adoption and build use in the digital services industry, we believe it is important to offer a zero-fee experience to both parties. Dashlancer will allow freelancers and businesses to transact without any extra charges. MARKETING PLAN : A GROWTH MARKETING APPROACH As a two-sided platform, we plan to take a different multichannel marketing approach to each side of the equation through a lean and efficient data driven process. There are three major parts to our marketing strategy: 1) Dash Network Collaborations 2) Aggregating Job Listings 3) Onboarding Freelancers 1. DASH NETWORK COLLABORATIONS As part of our core strategy, we aim to collaborate deeply with a number of other Dash funded projects and work closely with them to : Help them list their talent requirements on our platform with salaries/gig prices designated in Dash and match Freelancers to their needs. Identify the kind of traffic they are generating and funnel a part of their traffic into the Dashlancer platform as a use-case for Dash. Many countries like Venezuela and Zimbabwe amongst others have highly inflation-prone currencies, making it difficult for talented individuals to be able work easily online. 2. SCALING JOB LISTINGS To build a steady stream of projects on the supply side, we intend to reach out to all Treasury approved Project owners to begin with and ascertain their hiring needs for the duration of their project and help set up work listings. To increase outreach to the community beyond this immediate ecosystem, we intend on working closely with all Dash group-information sites and requesting them for banner advertisement space. This is to ensure we are visible to the larger Dash ecosystem. We intend to develop educational videos to explain features of the platform to new project owners and create a smooth onboarding experience. Some specific programs we intend to run: a) Logo Giveways : Free Logo Design Giveaways for Signup b) Dash-Backs: Cash-backs for spending Dash to hire freelancers. c) Dream-Job Promotions: Promoting select / high in-demand jobs as an acquisition channel to get users to signup organically. 3. ACQUIRING & ACTIVATING FREELANCING TALENT As part of our previous project, we developed an extensive course & marketing methodology to market Dash to Freelancers with an ongoing campaign on slow burn to reach out to Freelancers across South Asia. We aim to build upon this campaign by carefully measuring and doubling down on specific performing segments. Some prominent methods: Personal Outreach (30%) : We intend to personally reach out to a number of Talented Individuals to come and become a part of this growing ecosystem. Given that the best talent isn’t always looking for opportunities, we believe this method can be highly effective for bringing in talent. Content Marketing & Distribution on Dtube and Steemit (30%) : We aim to create and heavily promote a video channel on Dtube and a steemit profile to promote the dashlancing platform. We see these decentralised apps as an exciting opportunity to gain early adopters to the Dashlancing concept. Linkedin Ads (20%) : Targeting Freelancers and Other users for jobs through Linkedin Ads is likely to be an effective method of attracting high-quality talent. We aim to utilise Linkedin extensively to recruit talent for the platform. Youtube / Facebook (20%) : We intend to run Youtube ads to target freelancers to signup on our platform. The exact mix depends on the performance of each channel. We intend to continue running multiple variations of advertising and building a larger pre-signup list for launch on Facebook . At launch, we intend to scale up this campaign to find talent for specific roles and opportunities. *Our advertisements have been unaffected by the recent changes to Facebook policy since we are largely promoting Dash through our educational course. In the unlikely case the advertisements are blocked, we intend to move this budget to decentralized platforms, which we see as the future. Public Relations Blitz Along with the launch of the platform, we will run an extensive Public Relations Campaign to bring wider coverage to Dash through this project. We intend to reach out to magazines, blogs, influential technology and news platforms to cover Dashlancer and bring up further credibility, visibility and users. We intend to bring a PR professional team onboard to achieve this. As a Marketing Technologist for Squads.com, he has extensive experience of working in the Global Freelancing Industry. He offers an alternate approach to marketing and usability for Technology Products, side-stepping the need for large marketing spends to increase product adoption. BUDGET The budget is spread across 4 months and the work-plan is divided into 16 Sprints overall. Apart from Adspends that still need to be paid in Fiat Currency, most of the other salaries will be paid in Dash. Dash price has been assumed to be $400. Here is a detailed budget plan : This project involves an outlay of 120 Dash/month for 4 months and supports two separate Marketing budgets and a Project team of 10 members. DASH NETWORK : RETURN ON INVESTMENT Dash Adoption : Building a strong use-case for Dash in the payments space for Digital services industry grows dash-centric commerce. Supply chains are short, people-to-people based and can be entirely serviced by Dash’s unique strengths like InstantSend. Freelancers are the ideal set of adopters for Dash. Technically proficient Userbase : Digital services are one of the best bets for Dash adoption. A large & growing market, very low cost of acquisition and technically-savvy users with propensity to use better systems make the freelancing industry an obvious choice for Dash-use. With no point-of-sale requirements, freelancers can switch to Dash immediately once aware of the benefits. Increases Talent pool : By focusing on the Dash Ecosystem to begin with, this project potentially adds a rich vein of talented engineers, marketers and designers to the Dash community, acting as a potential force-multiplier for projects to hit the ground running with talented employees / sub-contractors. Eliminates Fiat-Conversion Step : Converting Dash to Fiat to pay for salaries can be a convoluted step for proposal owners, even more so across different geographies. In the absence of unambiguous laws, converting crypto-currency into cash to pay salaries leaves behind a blaze of paperwork and complicated tax compliances for proposal owners to deal with. Creates Dash Access For New Users in Non-Dash Regions: Many regions in the world lack access to Dash due to regulations and/or hyperinflation. Through Dashlancing, Dash can be earned for work, creating an alternate path for Dash to be sustainably spread globally without borders. Countries like India, Phillippines, Zimbabwe and Venezuela can benefit significantly from Dash based work.
