Hey Dash Community!

I wanted to share some quick progress with you on the Dash Integration into WallofCoins!

The Progress of the integration is where we expected it should be!
  • At the bottom I show what has been completed (Green Check Marks) and what is currently (Blue Cool Emoji) being worked on.
  • API Demonstration (Next Week!)
  • Good News!
    • We have NOT run into any problems or unexpected issues!
  • Small hiccup but being handled :)
    • Pycoins key utility does not support Dash’s Test Network. Not a problem we had to change a path for HD wallet.
If you have any questions please ask. Lastly, the Dash Integration is schedule to release early February and we are looking forward to it!

Have a great weekend and we hope you enjoy the API demonstration next week!

Albert

Community: We are planning an API demo in which WoC will demonstrate creating an "advertisement" for Dash on WoC through the API. We will report back after the demo. So far, it looks like everything is running smoothly, and the fact we are built on Bitcoin's code is helping avoid issues with their back-end processes.

Updates on the demo:
  • the demo went well. I believe the demo inspired the dash team that witnessed it (Ryan and Jon).
  • pycoin *does* in fact generate DASH test network addresses. this development oversight was resolved.
  • In January, we will have the API available for ALL DASH DEVELOPERS early!! ...as we are working on the API :) This will give everyone an early head start to play with integration.

could you @babygiraffe explain what this API thing will do ??

in like im 5yo ?

One more thing, will WOC share theyre breakthrough ? weird funding a company that does not share tech with the community they got that funding from.

its strange for a open source project to fund a closed one .. thats all im saying

The API allows anyone to build applications that leverage the WoC platform. For example, a merchant that wanted to enable "local bank deposit" as a payment type on their website could set up a Dash wallet to receive Dash payments, and use the WoC API to find Dash for sale near the customer and place the order. The customer would see something like "Deposit $56 at Citibank account number XXXXXXX556". As soon as the customer deposited funds into the seller's bank account, the purchased Dash would be sent from WoC to the merchant. The customer would never even realize Dash powered the purchase. That's just one example... there are many potential applications and services you can build using the API.

Information on the API can be found on WoC's website. We will inherit all the same functionality that exists for Bitcoin.
