I believe thats referring to an older cpu miner that hasn't been updated in quite a while. I'm using YAM M8a cpu miner by yvg1900. It's closed source and requires a donation but seems to work quite well...

Since when does minerd (link you provided) support X11? I mean you give instructions how to call it (minerd -a X11), but as far as it can tell the algorithm isn't supported...

Update: The machine averaging 550KH/s has paid out for a third time tonight, while the one averaging 800Kh/s hasn't paid anything. This info is taken from the pools website.
