Why does Evolution require email registration?

There've been multiple queries in this regard scattered across recent threads, so I thought I'd dedicate a whole post to the matter in the hopes that a core dev could explain more thoroughly. Is this about smoothing the way for KyC regulations in the future? Collecting metadata or user...

    Dash + Protonmail

Exactly... complying with KyC and selling user information are the two things that come to mind, though the former seems more likely than the latter. Either would be troubling developments for user privacy, to say the least. If this truly is about KyC laws, the burden of identification should...

    Dash + Protonmail

Could someone explain to me why Evolution requires email registration in the first place? Is there a technical reason I'm not grasping here? Thanks!

    What IP do we have?

GrandMasterDash I know there are licenses like MS-RSL that are more "shared source" than open, allowing others to audit the code base but dissuades them (via potential legal action) from copy-pasting it into a new project. Perhaps something like this is the compromise to which you refer? Then...

OK, help me feel better PLEASE

I have very similar concerns, tbh. DASH has always been based on its decentralization, fungibility, and the ability of choice in anonymity of payments; it's what separates DASH from, say, CryptoNote coins, which are excellent for anonymity but terrible for "above board" businesses. DASH's...

Open source IP is an oxymoron.

Bitcoin's RBF impact on DASH adoption & InstantX

Hearn's defection to help build GoldmanSachsCoin is despicable, but his criticisms of RBF are spot-on. Obviously DASH has already solved these problems in InstantX and maintained irreversibility of transactions, one of the foundational principles of Crypto. While my store is online and thus...

Mike Hearn quits Bitcoin, help me invite him to Dash

Isn't RBF the proposed change in Core and not Classic? Not to start a bitcoin-centric conversation on a DASH forum, but I was under the impression the only real change in Clsasic was 2MB blocksize.

Mike Hearn quits Bitcoin, help me invite him to Dash

GrandMasterDash I certainly concur in spirit, but when bankers own/are the regulators, is there really a difference? Of course not. Everything else... spot on ;)

Mike Hearn quits Bitcoin, help me invite him to Dash

InTheWoods I agree wholeheartedly, a lot of the criticisms of Bitcoin Core are valid and something needs to be done about the blocksize; a compromise between speedy, secure transactions and maintained decentralization, if such a thing is even posssible within bitcoin. What I'm wondering is why...

Mike Hearn quits Bitcoin, help me invite him to Dash

Mike Hearn has switched teams, all right: http://bravenewcoin.com/news/30-top-banks-and-mike-hearn-have-now-joined-r3-global-consortium/ According to Mike Hearn and R3 Consortium, the face of "Crypto 2.0" will be brought to us by the following: You guys really want this man anywhere near...

    Electrum-Dash with Trezor support released!

TREZOR is a great product and I definitely recommend it, but I don't want people getting the impression that it's "cold storage." Signing of transactions takes place on the device itself which isn't technically "online," but it interfaces with a wallet that is. It's more like a hyper-secure hot...

    How do YOU accept Dash?

Thanks, man. Shot you an email, hopefully it's not marked as spam. Let's keep in touch!

    How do YOU accept Dash?

I remember seeing that post on Reddit ;) Boy, would an OB fork with DASH be awesome! Then again, so would OB with some better IP obfuscation built in, but neither of those are happening just yet. I know the OB client is fairly dependent on libbitcoin and the devs say it would be "difficult" to...

    How do YOU accept Dash?

While my eCommerce site isn't live yet, I've found gourl.io to be an excellent solution for DASH (and BTC) integration with WooCommerce on WordPress. Works just fine in testing and the coins go straight to the address of your choice. Their WordPress plugin is also well maintained and gets...

Darkwallet is Vaporware, Long Live DASH?

One of the few bitcoin "killer apps" for the privacy-centric still within the ecosystem, Darkwallet, has "unofficially" become vaporware. After delivering an early Beta that provided some of the advanced coin mixing and recursive address features necessary to make bitcoin at least somewhat...

    Dash Precompiled for Linux?

Us chroot users can't install dash-qt from source and are stuck relying on the precompiled versions, but it seems those aren't being kept up to date on the homepage. Can anyone link me to the latest? Really should be done in the "Downloads" section...

    280x vs 750ti

Well the process to get this running is OS-dependent, but if you properly replaced the binaries, rebooted and it still isn't working, it could be a settings issue. Did you change the worksize to 64?

    280x vs 750ti

I'm running 3 MSI Twin Frozr 270s (no x) and get exactly 4Mh/s per card running sgminer 5 on Ubuntu. These 270s only use one 6-pin GPU power connector, so they're lighter on power than their counterparts. The boost in hashrate on the AMD cards that you're referencing is solely from Wolf's...

Bitcoin nodes have been spying on user transactions. DRK/Dash to the rescue?

This kind of shit is one of the main reasons I hope DRK succeeds. Bitcoin's "public ledger" is its Achilles' Heel, and DRK's ability to obfuscate transactions when needed without abandoning the blockchain's business-minded benefits is the "having your cake and eating it, too" of the Crypto world.

    Rebranding and Scalability

I know the correlation between companies and coins is hardly exact, but it's hard to imagine a company who's had three different names within the span of little more than a year. All the other changes sound fascinating! Can't wait to see what Evan and Co. pull out of their sleeve this time.
