Attention Dash Masternode Owners: Please register with the Deterministic Masternode List now

Yeah I think we should learn from this. In hindsight I think it's clear that the last-24h-limit was a bad idea in this case. The intention is good, but should not be combined with a fixed time limit (March 8th in this case) as we are bound to see anomalies in the registrations in the last hours...

Attention Dash Masternode Owners: Please register with the Deterministic Masternode List now

Nah, the progress % is over 4% so we need 80% registration, which is very unlikely. Looks like we need to wait another month. Oh well!

Like was mentioned here before we are more likely to see a spike in registrations the last 24h than a sudden drop. Yes, it's a bit strange that ppl that rush to register right before the deadline actually postpones the deadline by a month!

Attention Dash Masternode Owners: Please register with the Deterministic Masternode List now

From what I understand the logic behind the rules are that we allow a lower total percentage of activated nodes if the registration process slows down. The one thing that seems contradicting is the last entry in the table "80% requires 3.75% or less in last 24h" and the comment "Once we reach...

No, 4% is not less than 1.25% :) Or have I completely misunderstood the rules?
  8. M

Attention Dash Masternode Owners: Please register with the Deterministic Masternode List now

Yes. My point was that the registration rate is stable at around 4%, which is above the 1.25% limit. Looking at the trend it looks unlikely that the rate should drop to below 1.25% before March 8. I'm not worried about making it to the next budget cycle in the beginning of April. That's given...

Attention Dash Masternode Owners: Please register with the Deterministic Masternode List now

The registration rate has been pretty constant at 200 / 24h (about 4%) for the last few days, except for some occasional spikes upwards. The rate would have to drastically go up so that we hit 80% total registration, or drop significantly so that we go under the 24h threshold. Both seem unlikely...

Yeah, looks like we manage to hit some kind of worst kind scenario here. Some wild guess on how we progress from here: Time Share Change 2/3 49.0 +4.0 3/3 53.0 +3.0 4/3 56.0 +2.0 5/3 58.0 +1.0 6/3 59.0 +0.5 7/3 59.5 +0.5 8/3 60.0 Looks like we are way more...

I just read about BTCPay, the open Bitpay alternative: http://bitcoinist.com/btcpay-core-developer-better-bitpay/ Support for additional altcoin is just a few days worth. Sounds like something we should look into for dash? Ping @Bradley Zastrow

Which masternodes voted and what exactly voted on various proposals.

I guess most MN operators vote identically with all of their MNs. So, we should be able to group all MN IPs that have voted the same on all proposals and hence see how many nodes each MNO have, even though votes are spread out over time. It's no biggie at the moment, but blinded voting may...

Is it safe to use dashman to update 12.1 to 12.2?

Running the old dashman probably put your installation in some state the updated dashman couldn't handle. Running on a clean 0.12.1.5 install (installed by 'dashman install') worked in my case.

A simple voting strategy for MNOs

I agree. The quotation marks meant to indicate that it's a rather unfortunate name. Still, it's what has been used in the passed so I thought I'd stick to it. Anyway, the issue I'm trying to highlight is covered in this thread...

A simple voting strategy for MNOs

I think we need a clear statement regarding the unused budget. Historically it's referred to as "burned", but there has been comments that there is a possibility to bring those burned coins back in the future. This would required massive MNO support, but still. It makes a huge difference if the...

June 2017 - Dash Core Team Monthly Report

So... @kot July, August and soon September has passed. No updates? I feel like I'm the only one complaining about the lack of official updates from -Core. Am I missing some other channel? How about changing to a more lightweight weekly report format? I'm pretty sure you have them internally...

[prepoposal] Dash Debit Card ready by Mid-April

Thanks @Dr. Julian Hosp for activating Dash on my TenX account. I was confused at first as I still get the "Coming soon..." message when accessing Dash through "My Wallets" in the menu. One should just switch between BTC and Dash directly at the primary card screen and it works like a charm!

MNOs - Are you OK with DashIncubator backers supporting proposals?

There are two ways I could see it as something negative: If the 5 extra dash were a large part of the total proposal budget If the proposal was pretty much a sure pass, i.e. the risk of not passing was really low. 100% return for the backers is then a bit much. The first would be easy to avoid...

    on-chain scaling vs off-chain

I agree. One often hear the "cup of coffee" as an example of a trivial and small transaction. But in fact that's a transaction significant enough for us to bring up our physical wallets for today. I imagine that in the future we will see that the majority of the transactions are with amounts far...

    Innosilicon A5 DashMaster 30.2G 750W

Sorry, but you don't seem to have any understanding on how ASICs work. ASIC stands for Application Specific IC. An ASIC can't simply be reprogrammed to do something different. You could have more advanced systems with firmware etc that you could alter later on, but in this case we have hard...

An Open Letter From Evan and Ryan Regarding Dash Marketing

I guess that depends on what the funds would be used for. As long as everyone are aware of the possibility of bringing them back from now on. Evan suggests that bringing the funds back would require a special proposal with stricter requirements...

March, April 2017 - Dash Core Team Monthly Report

@kot Any update for May? I keep raising the same question every month: Why are the monthly reports lagging behind? Considering the core team's budget I find it hard to believe that it would be difficult to produce this report a day or two into the next month. The level of detail is rather low.

I'd like to extend this question to a more general: -Could you comment on the possibilities of accumulating unspent budget to future months. Is the concept desirable? Is it technically feasible? I know Ryan has stated multiple times that budget isn't our problem right now (growth is), but we...
