I'll change the fee to 0.8% on Tuesday, 2014.07.01. The donation will stay at 0.05%.

Possible Malicious Front End on Github

Rebooting when needed and I have 32 GB of RAM (16 of them for the p2pool VM atm) that have nothing better to be used for. Using a swap area doesn't seem to work IMO (at least in a VM), when I'm nearing full physical memory getblocktemplate latency deteriorates badly, so it's time for reboot...

Possible Malicious Front End on Github

FYI: I have my first p2pool node payment since the 3rd! BTW if someone doesn't know that from elsewhere, dstorm's p2pool repository is up to date and should work without stopping for the fork.

Possible Malicious Front End on Github

HammerHead, you are correct about the way p2pool fees are calculated. Not that I've seen the code, but from what I've read the idea is that each share submitted by workers has x% chance to be considered created by the p2pool owner, where x is the fee percentage. My p2pool node makes (roughly)...

Possible Malicious Front End on Github

I calculated how much I should be getting and how much I actually got in 15 days - about 15 times less than the expected. This is either cosmically bad luck or some issue. Well, I deleted the suspected UI and the data dir about 8 hours ago. Still no payment.

Possible Malicious Front End on Github

From what I've seen in other UIs, they only poll for data using javascript and visualize it using html and css, i.e. you could say (simplifying) they are read-only. Interestingly, the suspected UI has a php file, which in contrast to the above is executed on the web-server side. I checked it -...

Possible Malicious Front End on Github

Yup. Before that I had similar large periods without luck. I haven't yet made an actual calculation to see if it's consistent with luck. If that's not it I would think that the fee isn't calculated correctly (probably because it's less than 1%, idk) because of the previous dry periods...

Possible Malicious Front End on Github

I installed this UI on the 26th of May, though I published a link to it on my main p2pool web interface some time later - check my node to see how I installed (i.e. provided a link to) many UIs side by side. I had payments every day during the period 27th May - 3rd June and none since.

Possible Malicious Front End on Github

I have this UI as optional installed on my p2pool node. I haven't seen a node payment in 7 days and I get 50-200 MH/s on my node! Still, I can't imagine how the UI will cause this.

Looking for GOOD instructions for setting up a p2pool mining pool.

http://www.reddit.com/r/DRKMining/comments/26ljur/how_to_setup_a_p2pool_node_on_a_debian/ That's a tutorial I wrote. It works perfectly for me. It has links to the materials I used, so you can read up them if you prefer (though they might be outdated).

High share difficulty in p2pool for slower miners

I think nvidia GPUs give around 3 times the difficulty. I don't know why, but when I tried mining on my laptop's GPU it showed what you described.

    CoinJoin not fully anonymous?

I tend to agree that CoinJoin is incapable by design of offering 100% anonymity through technology - it has an obvious flaw if you want mathematically proven anonymity - the Master Nodes - they can be compromised, given an adversary with sufficient determination and resources. However, it is...

    p2pool memory leak

I can write a bash script doing that, but I think that would be an ugly workaround. I wouldn't implement it because the biggest miner at my node is one of the problematic kind - if I get anything from fees, it's mostly from this worker. A more elaborate workaround brews in my mind - with a very...

    P2Pool [ANN][P2POOL][STRATUM] South-eastern european p2pool node (Sofia, Bulgaria)

I'm running the most current version of the p2pool-drk. It seems it works as it should and doesn't show invalid blocks (though it shows no found blocks at all, but this is normal given the hard fork) like some other p2pool nodes at the moment. I'll update the thread when I have more...

I noticed a couple of commits from 8-9 hours ago in dstorm's repo, so I cloned the source again and compiled it. Now I don't get the error messages from my earlier posts, however the p2pool node in testnet reports ridiculous amount of blocks found and I get no tDRK payments. Here's a link...

As far as I can tell from the p2pool web interface, the testnet p2pool hasn't mined a single block for about 24 hours! I think we're having some issue here.

If you're running on testnet, then the port is different: http://192.168.56.4:18998/static/ This is my p2pool-drk experiment for after the fork. And, yeah, the web interface (with the above port) works fine for me.

    p2pool memory leak

It seems there's still a memory leak, however at least the memory usage increases linearly (not exponentially) and more slowly for the time being. This is the pattern I've seen on other p2pool nodes. There are no log messages containing "submitted share with" or "Handshake timed out" in the...

I tried 3 versions of twisted on debian - 12.0.0, 13.2.0 and 14.0.0. Twisted 12.0.0 was noticeably worse than the newer two versions I tried, but I noticed no difference between 13.2.0 and 14.0.0. I've seen a leak in most of the nodes I checked, however I never saw an exponential growth as...
