How Can We Help?

I'm a developer — I can read and write C, C++, as well as Python and am currently learning PyQt w/Qt4.

With most open-source projects, there will be a repo on Github with issues. Anyone who wants to can work on resolving them (usually in-contact with the main dev team) and start submitting pull requests. But there's not a lot going on on the Dash project on Github, or I'm not looking in the right place.

So, my question is, how can people interested in joining and assisting with the Dash development process, get started helping out?

Who do we need to contact and what communications channels do we need to be using to start getting involved?

Thanks,

Take a look at these githubs: https://github.com/dashpay/dash (main repo) - take a look at the v13 branch

https://github.com/QuantumExplorer/dashwallet (iPhone wallet) - not sure if you want to do some ObjectiveC or not

Looks like they mainly use slack. (I won't use slack for Dash development myself. I want to remain as anon as possible.)

Hope that helps.

Ah, ok perfect, thanks.

I was looking at the dash repo for https://github.com/evan82 instead of that one, which has no v13 branch.

Welcome! I might have some ideas.

1. Personally I'd love to see a mobile game built around Dash such as Bitcoin Billionaire which is growing wildly successful and just lets you tap your phone more and more to mine ing-game "bitcoins", then spend them or invest them and its all just for fun. This introduces the idea of crypto to people without subjecting them to the volatility.

2. As was mentioned above, iphone users basically can't use Dash ATM. Unless they are very tech savvy, anything to remedy this would be nice.

3. A p2p "LocalDash" craigslist style service would be awesome as well, not sure how easy this would be to do though.

4. A website to list items for sale for Dash anonymously (same setup as above service? merge them?)

anywho just a few ideas!

I think mobile apps is where we need the most development. Money and phones were made for each other.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I actually meant helping with the core Dash code. Sorry if I wasn't clear in my OP.

I do not understand ?
why not ?

you totally right
but
"if i can manage that, anybody can "

My grandma who would love to send the whole family $50 for christmas without buying 10 and mailing 10 different letters to 10 different addresses would disagree! Also we have to never forget we are the more technical people, iPhone users are in need of DEAD SIMPLE. Even though it's not toooooo bad, its still too much for most users.

(Grandma's fake, just saying though, haha.)

I hear you
but unfortunately (iPhone wise) this is all we got for now
(tell grandma)

They are looking for someone to help with the Dash Android wallet. See this post and the ones before it. Maybe you could help there?

I don't have any experience with Android. I do have experience with the reference client languages, and wanted to offer a hand there if needed.
Oh, OK, I saw the need for C++, and remembered you. I'm sure you will be able to contribute somewhere...

Hey nmarley! We're always interested in more help around the Dash project. I've sent you a PM about slack, feel free to join and help out where you feel the most valuable. I'll invite you into all of our dev channels.
