Should the treasury hire an independent party to test Venezuela merchants?

Do you support this idea?

That video gives the impression that many of the "Dash accepting merchants" don't actually accept Dash as a payment.

In my opinion we should hire an independent party (a journalist?) to go through a random subset of the Dash accepting merchants and report if they can actually accept Dash.

This could either
1) validate that the number of Dash accepting merchants is accurate
or
2) give us a more accurate estimate of the real number of merchants and bring our expectations back to reality

In my opinion both of these outcomes are positive outcomes compared to the uncertainty.

Great that Dash was mentioned in this video! I didn’t see it as particularly negative towards Dash, just that we may need to proliferate more POS machines to the merchants who decide to accept Dash. The boss’s phone dynamic is definitely not acceptable. Thoughts on this, @AlejandroE?

Hello, thanks for mention me on this post Tao!

Regarding that RT video this was my response on Reddit (link here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurr...ook_like_it_is_being/?st=JQK4IX87&sh=b531a1d7):

"Hello, here Alejandro Echeverria co founder of Dash Merchant, Dash Help and Dash Text.

What we are doing is the adoption of a totally new business concept with changing behaviours of consumers, and that is what some who see this ecosystem don’t understand, they just take one little detail and paint it as a whole thing just because they do not agree on how it “should” be done.

Venezuela has over 2500 merchants accepting Dash, there are around 100-150 tx per day, this means that there are merchants who haven’t received their first transactions yet. But that is not a real problem that is something we always thought possible, it is part of our hypothesys and what we need to understand is that ALL those 2500 merchants are willing to accept Dash (and maybe even other cryptos as well) as a payment method. That is just amazing revolutionary and exciting. It is now a happy problem to solve the consumption issue, and that is why we designed a “Strategy for adoption” which consists in: 1) Get the merchants. 2) Get Dash into people hands and 3) Incentivize the consumption.

Stage 1) is well advanced, now we are working on 2) and 3). This will take time but in 1 year we have achieved a LOT.

Regarding that video in Papa Jonh’s where they couldn’t pay with Dash because the manager wasn’t there, it is possible to have happened. No system is 100% perfect and that is why we out in place a Quality Control team who is in charge of supervising and monitoring the activity of the merchants and in that way we guarantee so that we can work hard to ensure the quality of our work.

We have found that internet connection sometimes could be bad, new employees could have receive a poor training, sometimes the manager is the only in charge of charging in crypto because that is the policy of that merchant. In the other hand there are merchants where ALL the employees are trained, any employee can charge in Dash, sometimes the owner is the only employee and he/she charges directly from the wallet. In summary: each merchant is different and they manage their finances like they want. We just provide the best information/training we can and then make follow ups and keep momentum growing.

In short, we are happy to be at the forefront of crypto adoption in the world, we understand it is an imperfect system as we are learning on the go, and it is something that has never been done before and are working hard to make it happen. We are excited and happy with the work we are doing and always ready to learn from our path…. Keep an eye in Venezuela, 2019 will be amazing.

PS: in this playlist we make a campaign of people paying with Dash in several merchants (Papa Jonh’s included). https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLoNrgFUS6JyhTrvRwVE1K65g7xrX9VEDX

I hope this makes sense for you guys. We always try our best to share everything we are doing (videos, interviews, statistics) so there is no "uncertainty".
Thanks again!
