Thank you for this, and yes, I have received some constructive criticism amongst the pure flaming because certain people disagree with my support of the name DASH. Lucky for me, my job gives me a thick skin, and I will continue my contributions to the project incorporating all of the constructive feedback I have received. Cheers!

This is the main thing coming out of this, and honestly, when this is over and we move on, our relationships will be much stronger. I really respect you buddy and will be proud to work alongside you as we each tackle PR in our own way.

I would think so as well... A simple trademark search would have settled it... Though I suppose it would depend in which country too ;)... We will see. Grabbing some popcorn and some blankets... It might take a while...
 
so, there will be some challenges with the trademarking of DASH

How about BitDash or BDASH :::: after a while, if people start using it.. they will just say dash anyway!!!

I would still document that it is "digital cash" in the PR content
 
I've come to the realization that whatever name we end up with will mean something sweet, sour or outright nasty in someone else's language or slang.

That being said, anyone from sub-Saharan Africa who speaks pidgin English or creole will immediately recognize the word DASH which means "to gift"

So if I "dash" you something, it means I am giving you something for free. So it's common to hear people ask where's why DASH, or give my own DASH, or DASH me something.

Given that 85% of that market is unbanked and has the fastest growing mobile market in the world, seven of the top ten fastest growing countries in the world, one should also take this into consideration.

It also has the largest demographic group under 30 in the world and they are called the "cheetah" generation because they are learning and adopting to technologies and innovation faster than any other generation in Africa.

You have a continent with 57 unique countries, over a billion people, and each country is ready for something new and exciting, while we sit here debating which name to use :)

Why would you change the name to a name that is a ready taken by a financial product-solution? And decide to challenge their trademark? A pre-existant financial and you want to name a financial the same name and challenge the first. And more than 1 pre-existant financial with the name Dash? Is somebody trying to sabotage Darkcoin?

I'm not going to call that like what it sounds out loud.... At least not until I get really disappointed... Don't you guys use google? So who's the dummy here? Me? maybe... I'm trying not to comment too much on the name change but it seems like we don't necessary have the smartest cookies here... Please feel targeted...

As hard as it may seem... IMHO Things are in play now. Now let's sit back and see what's what. I am very VERY certain that at this point there are lawyers involved and people meeting on what's to happen next. I'm willing to chill and see how this plays out. One thing is for certain... If lawyers and legalities are involved... This will take time, that's how it works. In mean time grab a glass of wine/beer/Scotch and relax folks.

As I said, I'm not even certain that is the company. I'd have to look at the minutes from the last board meeting.

Whether that's the one or not, nobody owns a trademark on Dash. Someone has simply applied for one, and they are a start up, not established by any means, and younger than Darkcoin if I recall correctly. This is something of a foot race. The board is confident that we can obtain rights to the name, but this is one of the reasons this was not made public - it's not yet a certainty.

With respect, I think your argument is a bit weak. "Financials" is a very broad brush, and none of those have the specific name we want nor do any of them do what we do.
 
Hahaha sorry buddy minotaur you must take for an idiot, you are comparing the use of the word circle and the word Dash.

Believe me I'm also tired as seeing you guys so ineffective as a foundation. You have the worst PR people I have ever encountered and I havn't seen anything from the foundation as far as common business sense yet, or results, I'm still waiting. Come on hate me! prove to me you guys are really good! And can do better than use the same ****** name as the rothschilds financial product and say its not just called dash...

Also as an investor in Darkcoin and the only person to create a Darkcoin business so far as I know... Hate me if you want, if it makes you guys better that's ok! :)
