The choice here is Niue. It has a population of only 1,600 and their GDP is only $20 Million USD. They already have freely-associated state status at the UN. How much would it take to bribe the local government to adopt DASH and stop using NZ dollars? I'm sure we could crowdsource funding for 1,600 mobile phones and give them away to every citizen. Note to Devs - When is the mobile client going to be ready? The island already has completely free wifi.

This idea was attempted on the Caribbean island of Dominica using BTC. It failed, I'm not sure why.

It has already been done. Some libertarians in the 70s tried to create a new micro-nation on an island just off the coast of Toga. Unfortunately it didn't work out too well.

There are hundreds of micronations. You could easily set up Dashnation too. Though real ambigious land is hard to come by.

The project failed because "the Dominica government never met certain project deliverables, such as issuing a press release for the event".

Lessons learned? Didn't spread enough bribes obviously. They tried too hard up front instead of:

1 - Making it happen,
2 - Film it, and
3 - Talk about it forever after the fact.
