Dash Evolution Roadmap for the coming months (short term)

Status 1.3.0 : Activated 24th of September 2024

Status 1.4.0 : released 10-10-2024. Currently locked-in and to be activated at start of epoch 6 (21st of October 2024)

Status 1.5.0 : to be released

Evolution 1.5.0 / Platform 1.5.0 : this update is planned for October and is orientated more towards introducing new Platform feautures and introducing SDK improvements for developers. This should be a Platform-only update, with Platform-specific commands, Core container should be kept running. Read the official announcement for specific update instructions.

Status 1.6.0 : to be released

Evolution 1.6.0 / Platform 1.6.0 : this update will provide new features and performance updates. This should be a Platform-only update, with Platform-specific commands, Core container should be kept running. Read the official announcement for specific update instructions.

Mobile Phone Roadmap

Status : DashPay wallet dApp on Android rollout to Mainnet delayed, due to issues detected during QA testing

Status : DashPay wallet dApp on iOS expected to rollout some time after the release of the Android version. It has some delay, so no ETA.

Evonode operators can simply create a free Github account, add their emailaddress to that account (secure account with 2 step auth !!) and then put a watch on this specific repository : https://github.com/dashpay/platform

This will get Evonode operators email notifications about certain activities on that Github repository : they will get notifications about devs builds (which they can ignore), they get information about release candidate builds (which they can also ignore, but handy to know) and they will get information about Platform Releases to Mainnet (which should trigger them to look for the official announcement of that Platform update release to Mainnet, which could possibly have very specific update instructions).

Evonode operators can also put a watch on this Dash forum thread : https://www.dash.org/forum/index.php?forums/official-announcements.54/ which should hopefully also start providing Platform update release information. Or they can join Dash on Discord (https://discord.gg/mqAuggY8) and be informed that way. Note : link to Discord / Discord invitation expires in 7 days.

In the mean time the Core Team will be working on a Core release to longterm fix the issues with Platform Withdrawals, expected release somewhere in November. This will be a hard fork update process with Core v22.0. This will require different Dashmate update instructions for Evonode operators, as Dashmate will need to update the Core version as well. Read the official announcement for specific update instructions.

Update : looks like Evolution 1.4.0 (Withdrawals) will be delayed by a few days. Looks like release of 1.4.0 is now planned for 29th of Sept 2024

Updated first post to include new information about Platform v1.4.0 release (i will share a screenshot about that in this post as well, see below) and
also added the latest information about the Mobile Phone roadmap (Android & iOS) to the first post. This contains information about the upcoming release of the DashPay wallet dApp to Mainnet. iOS release of DashPay wallet dApp will most likely happen a bit later, then the release of the Android version (iOS release has some delay).

Latest info with regards to upcoming release of the Platform v1.4.0 update :

Note : epoch 4 starts today, in 2 hours and will run for 9.125 days. Epoch 5 will start after that and will also run for 9.125 days (each epoch runs for 9.125 days) .
