An Open Letter From Evan and Ryan Regarding Dash Marketing

Background:

Marketing is both an art and a science. We believe that the best path forward is engagement of experts / professionals that can skillfully craft, test, measure, and refine a cohesive multi-channel marketing strategy featuring consistent messaging and branding.

I look forward to seeing Dash's marketing unified. It remains a mess of waste, inefficiency, and lost opportunity. There are some really exciting conferences on the horizon, but the effects of these could easily be amplified by a cohesive online strategy.

While it's endearing to see so many Dash proposal owners with their various marketing initiatives, without unification, a central plan, and central tracking, Dash is running an ultra inefficient marketing operation with occasional untracked nuggets of success mixed in.

My suggestion to Core remains - get an in-house expert to at least start running a growing Google/Bing SEM campaign. You can control the message, the funds, and help Dash push through its own message instead of allowing competitors to smear Dash with their own vitriol. Successful organizations spend millions of dollars per month on search/display advertising because it's low cost, trackable, scalable, profitable and effective.

Easy fiat gateways are a critical part to mass adoption. I don't know what that solution looks like, but it has to happen.
It looks like vendors.

They are already up to their eyeballs in compliance.

But vendors are the 50% of the commerce equation that cryptotards forgot. Cryptotards being a bunch of socialist snowflakes, on the rare occasion they think of the vendors, they think of destroying them because evil profit!

There are two sides to every transaction. The seller and the buyer. The seller end has been given zero consideration because the bulk of crypto people are anti-business.

The seller end is the best move because one seller enables thousands of buyers (users). The seller is already involved in compliance. Nothing new. The seller then simply spends their money, just like it was supposed to be 8 years ago when BTC was invented...

In the meantime, we encourage the community to refrain from potentially brand-impacting marketing tactics, especially those that focus on marketing Dash as an investment vehicle. Dash has always been focused on delivering value, and is characterized by long-term investors that believe in our mission and vision, and we hope to continue that long-term mindset well into the future.

Does the PR firm have an account in the forum? Can we ask them to weigh in on certain ideas so we do not violate the strategy put forth in the open letter?

Has anyone yet considered that you can't spend your Digital Cash if you continue to be obnoxiously hostile towards vendors. It seems kinda obvious, but being hostile to vendors generally means they won't accept your Digital Cash. Which means there's nowhere for anyone to spend it... Exactly what good is Digital Cash that you can't use? Why has every project that would have put IX to it's purpose been sabotaged by The Usual Suspects? Over 2 years later, still rotting on the vine...

I believe you mean the marketing firm. I do not believe they have a forum account, but I think once the initial strategy is formed and communicated it would be a great idea to have them create one which marketing proposal owners could reach out to for guidance / questions. Thank you for the suggestion.

Outsider view from someone that just drank the coolaid:

1. The brand needs some serious work. looks like a "duh" from this extensive exchange here. Glad to see the marketing firm hired. If you ever want a change, Weiden and Kennedy is in my backyard and built the Nike Brand. Dash should be in the top 10 trusted brands worldwide in 10 years. That needs to be the goal.
2. The brand you are building is simple.... "Trust":
a. Trust that if you send grandma DASH she will figure out what to do with it (evolution needs a focus group for every release of 10 grandmas that are brand new to crypto). Hint: the video's I've seen of Evolution are not there yet... I'm guessing you guys already know that.
b. Trust that the value of the currency will not swing wildly, or at least not wildly down. Good for this community for holding their DASH during a flash downturn. Count me among your holders and as soon as it makes sense, a consistent spender as well.
c. Trust that when I want to use it merchants will accept it. If you don't know what to do with your funds right now then you should be giving some coin to every merchant that installs dash in their store and has 5 transactions per month. Maybe you are already doing that... I just haven't seen it on here or in my community.
d. Trust that the developers and ecosystem is stable, and as bulletproof as possible. Safety of my money needs to be better than a bank. And don't make me memorize 24 words so i can feel safe at night.
Those are your messages IMHO. Nothing about investing. Nothing about jet fighters going super fast with Dash logos. Nothing about speculation. Actually I think most of this could be done with simple 30 second spots on what you are doing in Zimbabwe. Its really nothing more than a personal story, a brief shot of how easy it is to exchange money, and a logo at the end. That's it. Dead simple. Trust.
3. Don't use those unspent coins. Considering them your savings account violates trust. You get 10% of a gigaton of money - it should be plenty if used correctly. spend every token in a methodical strategic fashion every month.

I hope this doesn't come across as critical. But the Marketing thing is critical, and you have a huge advantage right now for so many reasons. I just felt compelled to add my 0.02D to the discussion. We are all newbies only once in a field and sometimes newbies can help frame things while they are young and naive.

We appreciate constructive criticism. Keep watching, we'll get there.

I need to know more. Can I buy with USD?

Yes, you can buy Dash with usd. Kraken does that, along with some other methods. there are links laying here somewhere for how exactly to do it. If you don't find those links easily, just ask here in this thread and I'll go get them for you.

Carry on, have fun, win!

Ryan, this post is one of the main reasons why I am in love with Dash: it is not built our some "ICO type" hype, but it truly has utility in mind and will always put that first. In my opinion, this is not only the right ethical choice, but it is also a business-savvy choice. This is a marathon, not a sprint. I support this way of thinking 100%.
